Uefa asks European Leagues for decision on domestic seasons by 25 May: Germany and England are planning (hoping?) to restart fairly soon while the Netherlands and France have already cancelled the remainder of their seasons. Either way, UEFA wants the results decided based on "sporting merit" in the current season. On the plus side, FIFA may allow up to five subs per team per game for matches that are played.

Liga MX Owner Wants MLS/Liga MX 'Superleague': Mexico's Liga MX has suspended promotion and relegation for five years and more dramatic changes may be pursued. Alejandro Irarragorri, owner of Santos Laguna and Atlas, would like to see a North American "Superleague" formed with MLS. The American league generates more profit than Liga MX, Irarragorri noted. "Their league has been growing in an ordered, slow, but consistent way in all senses: commercially, infrastructure, financial structure, diffusion and on the field," he said.

The PGA Plans a June 11 Return: The PGA is making a bid to be the first sport to come back, starting with the June 11 event in Fort Worth. There would be no fans at the first four events and a field of 110 golfers, all of whom kept distance from everyone else except their caddies. If testing availability has improved there would be screenings for coronavirus. The flag and bunker rakes would be handled by an official. The ball could be disinfected or replaced after each hole. "Golf has to be the single easiest sport to bring back safely," writes Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports.

Recent Sports Necrology: Over the past day or two the sports world has lost some notable people. Stirling Moss, passed away at the age of 90. He was one of the legendary racing drivers in what some might call the golden age of racing. Moss competed against the likes of Juan Manuel Fangio (a teammate) when Ferrari, Maserati, and Mercedes ruled.

61% of Sports Fans Won't Attend Games Without a Vaccine: Seventy two percent of Americans would not attend a sporting event if a vaccine for coronavirus is not yet available, according to a poll conducted by Seton Hall University. When the question was narrowed to sports fans, 61 percent would not go. Only 12 percent of Americans said they'd go to a game with social distancing measures in place. There's no timetable on a vaccine but it might not arrive until 2021.

Al Kaline, Detroit Tigers legend, dies at age 85: Even though I grew up many hours north of Detroit, our town's Little League teams would make an annual pilgrimage down south to see a Tigers game. I remember one of my brothers catching an Al Kaline foul ball. He eventually got it autographed when some of the Tigers players/ex-players made it up our way for an autographing session one winter.

Rest In Power, Mr. Tiger.

Record-Breaking NFL Kicker Tom Dempsey Dies: Tom Dempsey, who held the record for the NFL's longest field goal at 63 yards from 1970 to 2013, died Saturday at a retirement home in New Orleans from complications of coronavirus. He was 73. Dempsey was an unlikely record breaker, using an old-school, straight-ahead kicking style and missing the toes on his right foot. He set the record on the New Orleans Saints against the Detroit Lions in the final seconds of the game. It was 7 yards longer than the previous mark set by Bert Rechichar. It was broken by Matt Prater's 64-yarder in Denver.

Everything to know about the Korea Baseball Organization, which hopes to start season by early May: If there is good news for seamheads, it's that another league will attempt to resume play over the coming weeks. The Korea Baseball Organization, described in the past as delivering the "wildest, most outlandish" version of the sport, is hoping to kick off its season in late April or early May.

Oh please, oh please, some sporting network here in the USA pick this up. I need my baseball, any baseball!
