College football officials considering these rule changes to shorten games, limit 'exposures' for athletes: A convergence of issues has compelled the game's stakeholders to consider more seriously limiting "exposures," the number of plays per game that athletes are on the field. The intent is not necessarily to shorten game lengths but rather protect players' health.

Kyrie Irving Traded to Dallas Mavericks: The Dallas Mavericks have acquired Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, a 2029 first-round pick and two second-round picks. Irving is on the last year of his current contract and seeks a four-year, $198.5 million maximum extension. The Mavs are in sixth place in the West at 28-26 despite some huge performances from Luka Doncic.

Tom Brady Retires from Football: After 23 seasons, seven Super Bowls, three MVPs, 649 touchdown passes and 89,214 passing yards, Tom Brady is retiring from football. He announced his decision Wednesday morning on social media: "I won't be longwinded.
