Last night's club level hockey game between Carolina and NC State drew 24,000 people for their outdoor game in Carter-Finley. That's club level hockey, not regular NCAA level hockey. I think the NHL is taking up the ice today as I can see from my office the lights in the football stadium burning bright in the hazy sky.

They're letting all of the junior Canes kids skate today. Nice to see the area getting a lot of use of that full size rink

Can they schedule a NASCAR Truck Series event on the Carter-Finley ice before it gets pulled up?

To create a little regional excitement as a smokescreen so no one will notice that Mike Krzyzewski and Roy Williams are coming out of retirement.

I think you would need to change the conveyances from trucks to motorcycles with spiked wheels to get anyone's attention for that sort of thing around here.

For any SpoFites that are both T-Mobile customers and Soccer fans, you can get the MLS season package for free today only through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. Some extra info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/stlouiscitysc/comments/1184kpv/dont_forget_that_if_you_have_tmobile_you_can_get/

Does T-Mobile still give away mlb tv?

posted by NoMich at 12:16 PM on February 21, 2023

I haven't seen anything announced for this year but I expect there's a bit of scrambling on MLB's side given the whole bullshit fiasco with the regional Bally Networks. I first heard of the MLS deal late last week, though, so there's still plenty of time for them to work out an agreement (fingers crossed since the Rangers might actually be interesting this year).

Quick update NoMich: nothing official but I had to call in to customer service. Dude I talked to said 1) you don't have to activate the MLS thing today (which is good since I'm out of town and can't get the pin number they sent to my Internet Gateway) and 2) nothing official, of course, but he did mention that MLB should be coming some time in the next month or so, so there's some hope.

OK, thanks for checking on that, Ufie.

I am currently using Boost Mobile for my and my daughter's network, which uses T-Mobile and it works great at our house. When I went up to my brother's place out in the middle of nowhere in northern Michigan (but I repeat myself) this past Christmas, I had great reception up there as well. If T-Mobile does include MLB TV this year, I will definitely switch over to that service.

I feel under resourced. I'm still with Verizon. No MLS, no Lily.

I tried Verizon last year, but I had zero bars here at the house.
