Joey Votto gives us a prediction Take 2

Oh, that's awesome. I'm afraid, though, that aliens are apparently only interested in hillbillies in the South.

NoMich, never underestimate the number of hillbillies in Cincinnati.

Votto is a damn treasure, and he deserves better than Bob and Phil Castellini.

I've never been to Cincinnati. I have to go.

Underground Railroad, Germans, chili, hillbillies, the Bengals, and Bootsy Collins?

Why isn't there an annual multicultural Mardi Gras in Cincy?

Hilarious. I'm relieved that at least one person in MLB has retained a sense of humor. Cincinnati has historically been an important and interesting place. Being just across the river from Covington, Kentucky, (an even more interesting history there), pro-slavery sentiment was strong, but the pro-unionists prevailed, due in large part to the German origin of much of the population. The city was something of a boom town in the middle of the 19th century, largely due to its location on the Ohio River and the amount of traffic moving along the river due to the Civil War. On my many trips through the Cincinnati airport, usually on my way elsewhere, I noticed a marked sense of humor among those who worked at the airport.

Sorry, best we can do is the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich!
