Boston Celtics Great Bill Russell Dies: The Boston Celtics legend, Basketball Hall of Famer and civil rights activist Bill Russell died Sunday. He was 88. Russell won 11 NBA championships in 13 years in Boston. He averaged 22.5 rebounds a game, pulling down 21,620 in his career, and was voted the greatest NBA player ever by basketball journalists in 1980. Russell became the Celtics player-coach in 1966, making him the first Black coach in any major U.S. pro sport.

Police open investigations into 2003 and 2018 Canadian world junior teams: Another Canadian world junior team is under a cloud of suspicion. Hockey Canada released a statement Friday regarding an alleged group sexual assault involving members of the 2002-03 national junior team. “We believe the alleged incident from 2003 should be investigated by the authorities, and we urge the police to open an investigation into this disturbing situation,” Hockey Canada said. “Hockey Canada will co-operate with and support the authorities in every way we can, and we once again urge anyone who may have relevant information about this alleged incident to contact Halifax police immediately.”

God Almighty the Orioles Have Won 10 in a Row: Phyllis Cooper was a Baltimore native and Orioles fan since 1954 who died July 2 at age 93. Since then her beloved O's have won 10 straight games -- their best streak since 1999. Her son Randy said she was a huge fan. “One thing I learned early on was don’t call her during a game. Novak Djokovic Defeats Nick Kyrgios for Seventh Wimbledon Title: After losing the first set to an unstoppable serve barrage by Nick Kyrgios, Novak Djokovic rallied to win the next three sets for his fourth consecutive and seventh overall Wimbledon men's singles championship. Kyrgios played well but got out of focus mentally, constantly yelling at his box during the second and third sets. Afterwards he and Djokovic were so friendly that the latter used his on-court interivew to declare their "bromance" official. I love tennis.
