Florida Panthers Win Stanley Cup: The Florida Panthers flirted with disaster, but ultimately won the Stanley Cup with a 2-1 game 7 home victory over the Edmonton Oilers Monday night. Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart scored the goals for Florida. This is the first NHL championship for Florida in their 31-year history.

Giants Legend Willie Mays Dies at 93: Willie Mays, the center fielder thought to be baseball's greatest all-around player, died Tuesday at age 93. The Say Hey Kid had a career that began in the 1940s in the Negro Leagues, spent 21 seasons with the New York and San Francisco Giants, and ended with the New York Mets in 1973. He was the rare great hitter who loved fielding as much if not more. "Don't get me wrong: I like to hit," he said in 1955. "But there's nothing like getting out there in the outfield, running after a ball and throwing somebody out trying to take that extra base."

RIP The Logo, Mr Clutch: Jerry West, the inspiration for the NBA's logo, died peacefully at his home at the age of 86...One of basketball's most accomplished contributors, West was a staple of the sport across eight decades, winning nine championships as a player, scout, coach, executive and consultant. USA Shocks Pakistan in T20 World Cup: The magnitude of Thursday’s victory cannot be understated.
