Fan Fantasies: NBA - instead of players fouling out, adopt the NHL power play - four-on-five basketball, two minute penalties. NFL - four-point field goals from 57 yards and out. MLB - Let batters decide if they want to run to first or third base.

Kansas City here I come: The Patriots have traded away recently franchise-tagged backup quarterback Matt Cassel to the Chiefs. Former Pats offensive coordinator and recently hired Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels offered Pro-Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler in an attempt to get Cassel. Now from Denver, Cutler is pissed and demanding to be traded. Clearly, McDaniels doesn't buy into the rankings. HilarityDrama ensues.

Audio: Racist Tirade by Clippers Owner

And then, the NBA returned to Seattle...

This is a bona-fide opportunity for the Hansen-Ballmer group should this prove true and Sterling ultimately gets the Marge Schott removal from day-to-day operations. The Clippers ownership group may have to cede to the NBA.

Stern and the owners of the other teams do seem to bear some responsibility if this proves true, they've long known the nature of Sterling.

If they really want to be competitive, the Oakland A's should move to New York

My take away from the article was that the team should be left in Oakland. A point that I can agree with. Moving does not cure all that ails.

Apparently Love personally apologized to Scola after the game. Still, a character issue for the USMNT to consider.

Kevin Love will be suspended. A foot to the face of an international player should give the US Men's National Basketball Team an easier time trimming their abundant roster.

Ochocinco Doesn't Rate a Podium at Super Bowl Media Day

Ochocinco is why I'm hoping for a Patriots win. He has fun playing and has fun in his daily life. He is one of the more interesting athletes on Twitter.

This buddy of mine writes this once a month, this month is very sports heavy. Sinacle. He weighs in on Jose Reyes and an interesting NFL observation . . .

How come when an NFL kick- returner fields the ball, let's say 6 yards deep in the end zone and returns it for a touchdown, it goes down as a 106 yard return.

But if the same NFL kick-returner fields the ball 6 yards deep in the end zone and returns it to the 20 it goes down as a 20 yard return?

Please explain.

Shaq Announces His Retirement

I was just thinking that he never won a championship when he wasn't wearing a pointy neck-lined jersey. You know the one I mean? Both Dallas and the Heat are wearing them, the Lakers have had them for years. They seem to be winners, why don't all teams have them?
Also, I totally agree with grum@work, he made the NBA fun. It was always so clear that he was having a good time.
I wonder what awaits him? Law enforcement? Color commentary?

Mavericks Put Lakers in 3-0 Hole

"Well, it's almost as difficult as can be in the situation we have right now," Jackson said prior to Game 3. "If we make it any more difficult, we just have another thing to do. Kobe said to me this morning, 'It seems like this is the kind of way your last season should be, that something like this comes up and it has to be another hurdle that you have to cross.' But it's not me crossing it, it's the team."
Phil Jackson seems to be distancing himself from this train wreck.
