Iroquois Nationals No More: The Iroquois Nationals Men’s Lacrosse Team, known as the Iroquois Nationals, represents the Iroquois Confederacy in international field lacrosse competition.
...as our people have begun to revitalize our languages and culture, we felt it was time to change our name to what we collectively call ourselves: "Haudenosaunee" (ho-dee-no-show-nee) which translates to "People of the Longhouse." This name change is one of a series of actions we are taking as our people continue to regain what has been lost through colonialism.

Basebrawl Includes Actual Punches in Mariners-Angels: There was a barn burner of a brawl today in the Mariners-Angels game. Jesse Winker of the Marines was hit by a pitch, didn't like what he was hearing from the Angels bench and dove into the team throwing punches.

Commanders Fine Jack Del Rio $100,000 for Calling January 6 a 'Dust-Up': Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio has been fined $100,000 by the team for idiotic comments referring to the Jan. 6, 2021, as a minor "dustup" and saying attention should instead be focused on "riots, looting, burning" during George Floyd protests six months earlier. Head coach Ron Rivera said, "As we saw last night in the hearings, what happened on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 was an act of domestic terrorism. A group of citizens attempted to overturn the results of a free and fair election, and as a result lives were lost and the Capitol building was damaged."

LeBron Wants to Own NBA Team in Vegas: The newly minted billionaire LeBron James wants his retirement from basketball to include owning an NBA team in Las Vegas. A billion won't be enough, though. The Minnesota Timberwolves sold for $1.5 billion a year ago.

Nadal and Djokovic Can't Keep Meeting Like This: Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal met in the French Open quarterfinals last night in a four-hour four-setter that ended at 1:15 a.m. in Paris. Joe Posnanski covers the first match ever held between players with 20 grand slams, 300 grand slam matches and 1,000 matches won. "[W]henever we see Nadal and Djokovic play, we understand that there’s something personal between them, something only they fully understand, something neither one really talks about," he writes.
