The Stanley Cup finals are set to be played by a team without an "s" in their name. That's gotta be a first

NBA beat the NHL to it with the Finals featuring Thunder vs. Heat.

But at least both leagues remain consistent, mandating that their non-"S" finalists be named after weather events.

Unlike women's pro soccer teams, which are named after attributes (Pride, Courage, Spirit, etc.)

Reminds me of the naming conventions in Book of the Long Sun. Men get animal/animal product names, women get plant names (usually a flower), and androids get stone/metal names.
