It's unclear right now if the game will be considered a forfeit or will attempt to be made-up during the shortened 60-game season. As of now, tonight's Phillies/Yankees game is still scheduled to be played.

Justin Verlander Out for Season: Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander will miss the rest of the season with an elbow injury, the Houston Chronicle reported Sunday. Verlander threw six innings during the season opener Friday against the Seattle Mariners. There were no signs after the game something was amiss.

CFL's Edmonton Eskimos Will Change Their Name: The Edmonton Eskimos will be changing the name it has used since 1949, despite saying the opposite as recently as Wednesday. Two sponsors, Belairdirect and Sports Book Direct, said publicly they would end their association with the team absent a name change. Warren Moon, who led the team to five Grey Cups before moving to the NFL, supports the decision. Mostly. "It’s probably best to go ahead and make the change even though the name Eskimos to me just means pride and it means winning," he said.

The Canadian government has turned down the Blue Jays request to play in Toronto this season. The official statement from the Blue Jays front office doesn't state where they will play. The most probable option is Buffalo, but it requires clubhouse and lighting (for television broadcast) updates.

Jeremy Roenick Sues NBC Sports for Anti-Straight Discrimination: Sportscaster and former NHL star Jeremy Roenick has sued NBC Sports in New York state court claiming that when he was fired for joking on a podcast he wanted a threesome with his wife and his on-air colleague Kathryn Tappen, the network discriminated against him as a heterosexual. The kitchen sink suit also asserts that the former NHL star was fired for supporting failed USFL owner Donald Trump.
