I love the fact that cubnation wants this owner. Hopefully this talk will finally die out. Mark Cuban's track record shows that he is all talk and no results. Have fun hangin at courtside loser!

I really love this post. Has frank gotten a hit yet for the A's. More importantly has frank pissed anyone off yet in Oakland?
posted by whodat at 02:20 AM on April 26, 2008
Noone ever wanted frank to lay a bunt but hit the ball to the right side to advance the runner. Frank always reported late to spring training because of not recieving more money. The point of frank not talking to the press results is essentially not talking to the fans. The press was the only means for the fans to recieve info back then. Remember Frank was "suppose" to be a leader of the team. Frank always cared about his stats rather then team success. Sounds familar toronto? FYI Frank did sell his contract- very similar to the way David Bowie did in mid 90's. He blew it on a recording studio and a messy financial settlement with former wife. Dont forgot frank getting tossed out of game after hitting 500th hr. All this equals JACKOFF.
posted by whodat at 12:55 PM on April 22, 2008
Lets see what makes Frank one of the games biggest jack-offs. Always trying to hit a hr instead of moving the runner to the next base. Always asking for more money after he signed a contract. Threating not to report on time because he didnt recieve more money. Refusing to talk to the press because he didnt recieve more money. Trash talking soxs after because of not recieving more money. Going BK because of selling his contract on the open market. I will bow to anyone in chicago ( white sox fan ) who tries to tell me that frank WASNT a jackoff while with the soxs. Vote for Dale Murphy if you want a 2 time mvp in the HOF. At least he was a class act.

Frank Thomas in the HOF? Always has been a tough question to answer. Granted his first seven years were the best ever. Is that enough to get in? He seems not to get along with anyone. He prefers his stats over team succcess. Cant play the field. I believe it will be a very tough call. Being one of the games biggest jack-offs does not help.

I have a 11 year boy who tells that that playing football makes a person stupid. Even though I played for 10 years, it is tough for me to disagree. Sadly.

two comments: -Bill B walking off the field with 1 sec left on the clock is one of the most gutless things I have ever seen in sports. I have seen players do it but never a coach. Burn in hell Bill. - I watched Archie Manning play for the Saints for a number of years. He got his ass kicked for some of the worst team ever put together in NFL history. Archie was one of the best QBs ever to play that noone ever noticed. Truly what goes around comes around.

Good call justgary. Santana's numbers did fade if I remember correctly as the season progressed. Maybe he will be like Ted Lily who switched leagues and had a good season with the cubs. Twins pitching depth isn't as rich with the number of injuries they had during last last season.

The cubs last year had one of the highest payrolls in MLB. It is not a question about them spending money. Perhaps Cuban should buy the cubs because his mavs are the biggest chockers in the NBA. Call me when he finally wins something.

I can tell you why LT didn't care about the game. It was reported last week in Chicago that LT turned down offers to go back into the game after being cleared by medical staff. I believe after last week conversation on tv that i saw with rivers that he is the biggest jackoff in sports today.

Go back and look at how The Danny's team signed veterans with Norv Turner and Steve Spurrier. Do you really think things have stayed the same? Having Brunell, Daniels, Collins, and Randle El on the roster does not help your case. That being said, you are correct that the current rooster is younger then the previous coaches.

Spending money on shitty, over-the-hill, over-priced talent isn't helpful, especially when it comes at a cost of developing young players to be the nucleus of a team for years to come. I believe that is the redskins mode of operation the last few years.

JC salary cap handicaps? Synder has always spent money where people were afraid to go. Some team don't even approach the cap limit while the skins were always at the top. Gibbs has/does prefer vets over rookies. Hence always trading away picks for players. There were has beens and never weres on his coaching staff when he came back. If the NFC wasn't in such poor shape he never would have made the playoffs. Clearily the game has passed him by. He is smart enough to realize it

The arguement for a team to play at OSU gets destroyed by the loss to the ILL. Easily the best game would have been LSU-USC. Georgia-OSU would have been a good match-up for third and forth place. OMG who the hell did kansas or missou play to warrent any discussion of top five. A top four playoff is all that is needed. That would keep the bowls happy.

Was scottie pippen great because of MJ is one of the great bar arguements in chicago history. MJ's abilty allowed pippen to cheat on defense. MJ would have made glenn rice or even steve smith apart of the NBA top 50 in my opinion. I have seen guys get into blows because of this subject of pippen's ability. His play for Houston w/o MJ is what you get with this joker.

I have never seen so many flags on one team in my life. It that a sign of poor coaching? Bad draft picks? I ca tell you that the lions will be bad for a lond time

This talk makes me laugh. The white sox odd man out? Yankees have more talent then everybody else? The mighty white soxs are the team to beat. Their pitching will come around. They have the best five plus one starter in the major leagues. Their 3-4-5-6 hitters are simply powerful. The Al east will have one team in post season and they won't last long. We will see how the tigers finish. But the defending world series champions are the Chicago White Soxs. They are the team to beat.

After several incidents in the past two years, it is clear Barrett has an anger-mangement issue. However you would never notice when he talks on the local sports radio stations. I watched the braves in the late 80's go through some god awful years. They had some young players(Glavine,Smoltz) so you had a feeling things would get better. The cubs should be ashamed of the level of this team. Spending 90 millions dollars on this crap is embarrassing. Even for this soxs fan.

Maybe I am old school. I believe that if a player, coach, or owner is currently in the game, they shouldn't bet on it. Granted baseball is a lot different in many ways today but should't we try to have a basic code of honor. Maybe if pete had admitted to his past.He asked for forgiveness, we would be talking about HOF. He always can across as a cheap conman

i thought the seahawks made big plays but the refs kept calling them back. i didn't notice but did pitt have a holding penalty on off all game. i figure since there is one on every play they might have one or two. NFL games aren't fixed but there no doubt that the refs can play havoc with the games

i believe that the steelers would win win 9 out of 10 times they played however there are some things that i would like to see: 1) where were ben's feet when he threw that long pass to ward. they had to be a better shot then the one they showed on abc. 2) the seahawks completed a pass to pitt 1 yard line. the play was called back. why.the replay that that i saw-- the pitt guy jumped offside. the holding penalty was really really - lets say brutal. 3) i am still waiting for ben to score. what was the ref looking at. at first he was going to mark the ball. then he raised his hands. what did he see. sadly to say the refs had a bigger impact on the game then any of the players.

As a bear season ticketholder---- i thought dennis green would have been a better choice then lovie. i am happy that i was wrong. i am torn through between 12-4 in the nfc north or 9-7 in the afc east. who did saban have to work with. crap, crap i tell you.

Mike Brown can knock the snot out of people. I think he could start. Also keep in mind that chico has only put in 50% of the playbook. The current bears haven't blitz the lbs yet because the front four have been doing such great job. I also believe that the current bears are deeper. I saw the 85 bears in nola. I can tell you that i have never seen an opposition team in such fear and state of panic. I don't believe that the current team is feared --- yet.

The Bears reminds me of another Chicago team. Can you say Chicago White Sox? The breaks are going their way.I rather be lucky then good.Granted it is a fourth place schedule but you still have to beat the teams. This team is very deep in all positions. Noone has a faster or stronger defense. They are always knocking people out of the game. A good running game. A quarterback who is getting better every week. This season ticket holder is starting to get excited about ---PLAYOFFS---!!!! Big game tonite GB-Minn.

McNabb went to Mt Carmal HS in Chicago. Raised by good parents, who clearly taught him how to act. That being said. He is the most overrated QB I have ever seen. A great defense, good RBs, and decent WRs. These are the reasons why McNabb is even talked about. That and the oblivious east coast bias ESPN has. Steve McNair and Donovan McNabb are the same damn player.

It's clear bensen wanted to move the saints to san antonio. The NFL just nixed that idea. My hunch is that the NFL buys him out at a fair price. Then turns around to sell the team to a LA buyer. It's also clear that NO can no longer support the team. I have never seen death valley in baton rouge so empty then last week when saints played the bears.

With what money will they build a stadium with. As a matter of fact who is they? Nola does't have a pot to piss in. I can't imagine the locals will want to spend hundreds of millions for a building that is used 10 days a year. Tulane can play at the city park stadium. Taglibue and owners love having the super bowl there. That is the only reason why NFL wants a team there.

Sosa was offered by a SI writer to take a drug test in a very public way in chicago while he was with the cubs. He refused. Steroids/ HGH were found in his car. His best friend on the team, a utility IF took the blame. He is a guy who never lifted weights during his career. Look at the way his body changed from when he was a member of the white soxs to the cubs. In the senate hearings he claimed he didn't understand the questions because of his inability to understand english. That ruined any credibility he had left. In chicago there isn't any doubt that sammy sosa took steroids.
