I don't get it. Why does an NFL player with loads of cash go into a crappy strip club? (No punchline, sorry. Feel free to add your own.) Couldn't he have a dozen strippers for hire in his hotel room? Once a player with his reputation steps into a piece o' shit strip club, he would automatically be a target for trouble. (Whether he causes it or not.) Pacman has got to be smarter than this, right? Right now these are only allegations, but no matter how this turns out, by many he's gonna be percieved as guilty.

I don't get it. Why does an NFL player with loads of cash go into a crappy strip club? Because he's trying to rehabilitate his good name. Can you think of a better plan to do that?

"I was sitting in the office and he lunged at me numerous times in an effort to do grave bodily harm," Jackson wrote in the warrant application filed Jan. 7, "Veronica Jones, an owner, went into the hall to deal with a member of his entourage. I followed to gawk. He was in the hall, surprisingly reached over or around a security guard and sucker punched me in my left eye."He is a suspended Tennessee Titan and may not have boatloads of cash. NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. So if the allegations are true, does he get suspended for the 2008 season does he head to Canada? Do the Titans release him?

Dear God, I am writing this note to you as a sort of question about fate. How come you didn't see fit to give me incredible athletic ability? As far as I am aware of, I have never shot anyone, drowned and electrocuted dogs, or allegedly sucker punched lawyers in seedy strip clubs. I think I would have been a pretty good role model and I would have spent the bajillions of dollars wisely. Instead you made me a musician. I know I should have made my own breaks, but grunge was big and I play the saxophone. Oh well, next time around, I think baseball would be good. And please make me taller. Yours ( like you didn't know already), THX P.S. Know where I can sell 1,000 CD's quickly?

THX- If those 1,000 CD's have you doing a saxaphone version of "Jet City Woman," just tell me where to send the check for $10,000.

I don't get it. Why does an NFL player with loads of cash go into a crappy strip club? Why? To spread the word of the gospel to those harlots. Or, he had a lot of one dollar bills and they were taking up room in his pockets.

tahoemoj if you'll buy the rest of the damn CD's, I'll play Jet City Woman, Roundabout, Theme from Rocky, or do my best to recreate the sound of Bill Parcells farts after eating a #6 at Taco Bell. Which is pretty much what one reviewer has likened my playing to.

It's obvious the guy doesn't really want to play football but wishes to instead pursue his real dream: Owning a strip club! He definitely has put in the time required to learn the business. Ah, America...Land of Opportunity! One door closes, another opens up.

This will end well. It's early days, but I want to nominate this for best prediction of 2008. Step 1: shoot entire magazine into foot. Step 2. reload. Step 3: see step 1.

What happens is that eventhough he has planty of money, he does not know how to get private strippers, so he takes the obvious route. I am not sure that private strippers for him is a good idea, the guy seems to be an extremely anti-social person and may end up with some serious charges against him if left alone in a room with a woman.

For the record, the attorney states she was in the club investigating a divorce case. Don't they hire investigators for something like this? Maybe she is trying to cover up the fact that she is stripping on the side.

I find it hard to believe that an NFL player failed at numerous attempts to lunge and inflict bodily harm. The Best blockers in the NFL can't hold a block forever but somehow the Strip club security was able to fend off Pacman and his entorauge through numerous attempts. Maybe those guys should try out for the Falcons. Something wreaks of shenanigans here.

Bouncers are allowed to do things that offensive linemen are not.
posted by hawkguy at 08:45 AM on January 16, 2008
Conversely, I suspect your average Atlanta strip-club bouncer would tend to be someone who had played some football. Those blocking & tackling skills would come in useful in a gig like that. Not to mention that Mister Jones is kind of out of practice at this point.

People need to get a grip on what a sucker-punch is: an unexpected punch. If you've just left an office where someone repeatedly lunged at you but was prevented from hurting you by the presence of big men and furniture, and you're following along to watch him get hustled out of the club when he punches you in the eye, you can't say you didn't see it coming. Jones is certainly an all-pro shitheel who has shown the world his true worth, but when a fast, strong motherfucker with an entourage jumps stink on you, get your ass to Mars. She may have been surprised that he hit her, but that does not a sucker-punch make.

"Wow, another notch in the crime-belt of Pac." Actually, I don't think the authorities have even issued a warrant yet. Seems to me this really doesn't hold much water. I think it is an attemp to further smear Mr. Jones for some reason.

This is possible. Could be another case of jumping on the band wagon. The problem is once a person is identified as trouble further implications tend to stick like glue (at least in the eyes of the public), regardless of truth.

So it is ok to punch a woman in the face if she knows its coming??? Good to know. Thanks

No... but it does change the word from "sucker punch" to "punch," which is what we were discussing. Thought I'd mention that, as you were so obviously lost in double meaning.

A clerk in the Warrants Division told The Associated Press that the petition of Wanda S. Jackson had been withdrawn on Wednesday. I think she found out the cost of filing a false police report. We could have saved some space if we waited 1 more day to discuss this. Then again, if we did, we wouldn't be discussing this.

Debo270, if you're accusing me of condoning punching women in the face because you read that in my comment, please read it again, particularly where I call the guy a shitheel who has shown the world his true worth. I thought I made that clear. If I didn't, I'm sorry. If, however, you understood me from the start and chose to accuse me regardless, then that's pretty low-class. Please keep me out of it. In any case, the alleged punchee retracted her charges, so Pacman can return to his hectic life of eating fruit and keeping ahead of Inky, Binky, Pinky, and Clyde.
