Yeah, everybody knows Fuzzy drinks Jim Beam..... He should have just hired ReputationDefender to go to battle for him, they're probably alot cheaper (and alot less effective) than lawyers. I wonder what Fuzzy thought about the bit about his comments about Tiger?

I am down for fantasy baseball! If anyone wants to do the oddball stats league again, I'd be down for that as well (we selected the more obscure stats to track like putouts, triples, etc, instead of the RBI, Runs, HRs).

I'm a Bonds fan but this is ridiculous. He took pills from a teammate's locker without knowing what they were? Come on, that's what toddlers do, not long time pro ball players. Blaming a teammate for your own stupidity is about the lamest and most pathetic thing ever.

Pretty interesting to play around with. I only got a couple to work before the interface bogged down interminably but still very interesting. The really nice thing, grum, would be to be able to port the results into one of the video games to play monster seasons against each other!

Is it too early to start complaining about the Yankees ruining baseball? Not that I'm upset they got Pettitte back, I love cheering against that bugger. It makes it easier now since I cheer for whoever's playing against the Yankees anyway.

Bonds won't play for incentives so the A's are out. He won't play for Boston because he thinks they're all racists (which, ironically, makes him a racist or, at the very least, a stereotypist), he won't go to New York because they don't need him. I don't know where he goes, he's got so much baggage and is a liability in the field now but he is one hell of a gate draw. Until he breaks the record, sorry if he breaks the record. I kind of hope the Giants let him go so they can add some youth to the team, they looked old, slow and ineffective after the All-Star Break last season. But then, I would like to see him break the record in San Francisco. But not for $12 million or even $10 million.

I don't think Big Mac makes it in. Nor do I think he should. And Albert Belle was one badass mutha back in the day. His approach at the plate was incredibly intimidating. Not sure if he's HOF material but I certainly did enjoy watching him beat the hell out of that ball.

You know, I like the sound of the Oakland A's but I'm pretty damned happy that they're moving a helluva lot closer. Driving up to Oaktown takes for-freaking-ever. And I always run into some real assholes at the Coliseum. Fremont A's sounds stupid though. Like Free Monty's which makes me think of free strip shows or something which I guess wouldn't really be a bad thing.

justgary, I agree with you, its against the rules and should be enforced. i think MLB mised a huge opportunity in Game 2 to step on the "issue" and squash it. But Selig is a wimp and didn't do anything and SmudgeGate arose. Which has, conveniently for him, become a footnote in the Cards' win.

daddisamm, I'm guessing that there are different kinds of synthetic testestorone that "burn" at different rates, like there are different kinds of sugar that are used by the body at different rates. grum, I think people want to believe that he didn't cheat (great story, another American win, etc.) and that desire can override bullshit detectors. I would love to beleive that Barry Bonds has never used PED's but the circumstantial evidence is pretty overwhelming. As for Landis, he's going to fight the two positive results with his lawyers how? I don't really understand how he could have any sort of a defense here. Are the rules not clear enough? Test positive and you don't get to keep your win. Or is it all posturing now to try and save some face in the light of global humiliation at being caught and called out as a cheater? I'm leaning towards that second one. Its like a poker player pretending to really think about it before he tosses his 2-3 offsuit. He doesn't want to appear weak even though he's got nothing.

Abreu has not been the same since he had that amazing home run derby last year. But he's still going to give the Yankees a heck of a lift. And Lidle's a quality pitcher. I hope the Red Sox come up with something good to counter this or they may not see the post season. The clock is ticking, Theo, the clock is ticking.

chicobangs, all I ever see of Cuban are Sportscenter highlights because I can't stand basketball. He doesn't piss me off, he's just kind of a pesty guy but I do admire his passion. Maybe I was too quick to dismiss him as a viable new owner. I would be bummed if the Penguins left Pittsburgh. As for hockey needing headlines, I agree. This last season with the new rules was pretty good. I could even watch with my wife, who dislikes the sport because they allow fighting. One of the most difficult hurdles for hockey is its tv watchability, its a hard sport to follow and its even harder on tv. Whatever happened to the thing they did for the All-Star game a few years ago where a slapshot showed red and passes were blue? That was cool and made the game easier to follow.

So A-Rod's getting Knoblauched (26 errors in 1999!) ? Must be all that pressure. Sad thing is, if the Yankees trade him then they'll probably win the Series the next year. A-Rod's a phenemonal player but he's out of his position, is pressing hard and its showing. Good, I like watching the Yankees lose almost as much as I like watching the Giants win.
