Soto's bluntness in that post-Series presser cracks me up. He didn't even try to make it sound like it would be hard for him to sign elsewhere.

It is interesting how many of the Nationals' stars of the 2019 championship team (*) or +/- a year have found their way to other NL East teams:
- Juan Soto (Mets) *
- Max Scherzer (Mets, though not anymore) *
- Trea Turner (Phillies) *
- Bryce Harper (Phillies)
- Kyle Schwarber (Phillies)

The Mets will be paying two guys something like $55 million a season (in total, not each) for 10 years and one of them retired back in 2001.

If you had any doubt, it's worth rewatching his final postgame press conference from October:
Reporter: "There's a perception that you would rather stay in New York than go elsewhere, is that correct?"
"Um, I don't think so. I mean, I'm really happy with the city, the team, how these guys do, but we're going to look at every situation, every offer that we get, and take a decision from there."
Reporter: "Do you expect the Mets to come in?"
"I don't know what teams want to come after me, but I'll be open to this and every single team. I don't have any doors closed. I'm going to be available to all 30 teams."
Reporter: "Will it be tough to leave here? I know you love playing with Judge and love the guys here."
[pause] "Leaving any place that is a winning team is always hard. This place was really special, it's been a blast... but at the end of the day, we'll see what's going to happen."
Reporter: "Do the Yankees have any advantage in signing you, based on what you experienced here?"
"I feel like every team has the same opportunities."

And the Avs/Canes game hit the over. Albeit the dumbest O/U at 6.5. Come on man, that game had 5-2, 4-3 written all over it before the puck even dropped. It ended 5-3. I was happy to steal that $11 last night. (I just do $5 bets every once in a great while)

I hope he gets more gigs of his own in due course, although he's a great sub.
Sometimes when he subs on the Eisen show, I'll see a clip of it pop up on YT and watch it in disbelief.

I thought the fans were supposed to be great but Tom Brady said the hotel rooms were no good.
Guess we have to revise that line of thinking.
I sincerely hope that the Bills or Ravens win the Super Bowl this year so we can get all that pent up fan frustration out of the way.
No, I take that back, I really want the Lions to win.
I would enjoy a Vikings - Bills Super Bowl though. Someone would finally be winning the big one after four fails. As long as they don't bring Tarkenton into it.

I don't think there is a greater living embodiment of the first two lines of "A Tale Of Two Cities" than Jameis Winston.
Yardage, savvy decisions, TD's, WTF's, devastating team killing picks.
As Stefon from Saturday Night Live would say, he's got everything.
He even tossed in one of his patented backward puppet falls when he got trucked during the runback of the second pick six.
If you want entertainment value combined with Lord-help-us-all moments in the current post-election period, Jameis is the man of the moment.
