NHL Playoffs Round 3 pick 'em: Round two is over, and only Anaheim, Edmonton, Carolina and Buffalo (who'd have predicted that??) are left. The current leaderboard. Make your conference final picks inside:
Hey, I want an Edmonton-Buffalo final too! I picked Edmonton in 6 last round, and so I'm out of the running for the Costanza, which means I'm free to bet with my heart: Edmonton in 5 (the Duck Train stops here! Bris for baby Bryzzy! Neidermayer'll niedaminute! Samsonoff-the-hook!) Buffalo in 7 (Brie for Briere as Staal Stalls! Dead Weight as Drury does the dreary work in Ward's Yard!) i got nothing

I obviously haven't got a clue about who I think is going to win (as my skills at making this kind of decision are worse than the goddamn monkey's), so I'm picking who I WANT to win. Edmonton in 6 Buffalo in 7

Anaheim in 7 - Nei-Der-Mayer > Pronger. Edmonton's tough road will catch up with them. Buffalo in 7 - Tougher Road. Shorties. More heros- Balanced & Timely Scoring. Miller > Ward.

Okay - I can't believe I'm still in 10th. I haven't been right since April. Edmonton in 6 (this should mean the death of Edmonton - I haven't picked them yet) Carolina in 7 (this should be a great series to watch) At this point - I'm flipping a coin.

Anaheim in 7 Buffalo in 6 but cheering for the Oilers. Spooky that in 2004 the Flames beat both the Wings and Sharks in 6, both series being finished on the Flames home ice. And what have the Oilers done this year?

Anaheim in 5 Buffalo in 6 Slowly clawing my way up to mediocrity.

I have to admit, the Oilers are surprising me. All year they had incredible skaters with sub-par goal tending. If they had received something close to par goal tending they probably would've won the NW. They had potential, but I didn't think the pieces would fall into place so quickly. Roloson didn't seem to adjust to his new surroundings after the trade deadline. Samsonov was his usual shifty self, but didn't seem to mesh with what the rest of the skating corps had in mind. Big ups to Lowe and MacT.

Since all my predictions have been terrible, let's say ANAHEIM in 5, CAROLINA in 7. I'm hoping for the opposite. Actually, I don't care anymore. I'm dead meat in my pool and my team is out. Go Oil, I suppose.

Anaheim in 7 Carolina in 5 That's what I said in campfire last night anyway. Ef it, I'm sticking with those.

I would have no stomach for this but for the fact that I'm in first place. All teams are dead-on even, so it's a coin toss. Plus, my condescending fondness for the Sabres has turned to hatred and disgust. Carolina in 7 Anaheim in 7

Well, the series aren't done yet. The confidence pool is updated daily, though.

Me? Edmonton in 6 Buffalo in 6 That's it. I was going by what I thought rather than what I wanted for the last two rounds, and that got me nothing. So I'm going by what I'd like to see: Edmonton vs Buffalo in the finals.
