More Trouble For Vick: Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana in a urine sample submitted September 13th, just over two weeks after his guilty plea regarding federal charges stemming from a dogfighting operation in Virginia that Vick bankrolled and took part in. As a result of the positive test, Vick has been restricted to his residence every day from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m; his restriction will include electronic monitoring which Vick must pay for. Judge Henry Hudson also ordered Vick to continue in a substance therapy program and participate in mental health counseling.

Ya just can't fix stupid.... This should really help a Judge known for harsh penalties to feel compassion. Flaunting your nose at a judge's release restrictions is not a wise thing to do.

I'm all for the legalization of pot, but methinks Vick couldn't have chosen a more inopportune time to engage in an act of civil disobedience..oh what's that? He just thought smokin some reefer while under government supervision was a good idea? Maybe gonna relax a bit? Brilliant! I really think it speaks volumes to how seriously he is taking the whole situation.

I heard the other day Vick stands to lose more than $100 million over the various criminal charges. $100 MILLION, people. You think a guy could hold off on the chronic for a little while to get a shot for at least some of that huge pile of dosh!

At this rate he may not be out of jail while he is young enough to play football at the NFL level. He has the federal charges, which could be increased due to his breaking the conditions of his release. After that he still faces charges in Virginia which is one of the states with the harshest penalties against animal cruelty and endangerment. One thing I can not understand though is why they are not bringing charges in Va. against Vick for the killing of the dogs- each count could be up to 5 years in prison- and Vick has admitted participating in six or eight dog killings.

For how long is marijuana detectable in the system after use? I thought it was about a month. The sample was tested 17 days after his plea. If my understanding is correct, Vick could have used the stuff long before it became evident that he was going to have to make a plea agreement. Even if he did use after the plea, I can't pound on him. There's a great quote from the movie "The Freshman": There's a kind of freedom in being completely screwed... because you know things can't get any worse. It's entirely possible that Vick felt he was at rock bottom, and that no act on his part at that point was going to make his future look any more bleak. That's got to be a pretty awful feeling.

He already pleaded guilty to these charges in his federal indictment and can't be charged with the same crime twice.I'm no where to understanding the laws such as a Lawyer does... But it seems as if his Lawyers knew what they were doing in having admit to the killings of the dogs in the Federal indictment and in doing so the Federal boys are not pursueing the gambling and crossing state lines with the gambling enterprise and thusly excaping the Gambling and Racketeering charges and also elimatinating the additional charges in Va. which does have harsh animal cuelty punishments. Like I said. I'm no lawyer and could be, and likely am, wrong.

I remember hearing him say " I found God" when he had the press conference at the time he pleaded guilty. I guess God told him to fire one up and relax.

Remember that, unlike any other drug, pot will show up for weeks in a regular user. The test was two weeks after his guilty plea. It's possible he had the sense to quit, and this was left over. Likely? Hell no! He's probably burning a bush with some of the same homeys got him into this shit right now. And I don't really blame him for partying. "Let's see, I'm going to jail for years and when I get out fines and legal fees will have eaten up every cent of my millions. Right now I've got money, free time, and access to anything I want. Think I'll catch up on my reading." Yeah, right. More like, "Think I'll throw a party they'll still be talking about when I get back! Yo! I want every skanky ho in the Tidewater and every kind of dope and booze known to man at my house by sundown!" Hell, that's what I'd do. But, seriously Mike, score some shrooms. They won't show up on the test.

If my understanding is correct, Vick could have used the stuff long before it became evident that he was going to have to make a plea agreement. If Vick used before the plea he was just as stupid. Since the NFL did not suspend him indefinitely until the plea was made then he would have been breaking another rule in the NFL conduct policy. I am sure he did it before and after the plea...seems to me he just doesn't care about anyone, including himself apparantly. That still doesn't make me have any sympathy at all for him. There's a kind of freedom in being completely screwed... because you know things can't get any worse. Yeah, things just got worse for him, just when he thought they couldn't.

skeet, I think that Vick only pled guilty to "conspiracy", as it was the one charge that the feds had the most proof of. Vick admitted to killing dogs in his summary, but I do not think it was part of the plea- but I could be wrong. I heard that he was able to be charged with animal cruelty for the dog killings. I live in Virginia and heard it on the news, but I may be incorrect one here as I am no lawyer either. I do like your idea though- "The Longest Yard" reality show perhaps?

I still say he hasn't even begun to see the end of this yet! I'm still waiting for the IRS to get involved in the dog betting also. I just can't see him back in the NFL anytime soon, if EVER! What a poor smuck!

Vick initially denied any knowledge of the enterprise, then pledged after he was charged that he would fight to clear his name. After Phillips and two other co-defendants pleaded guilty, Vick followed suit and admitted in a written plea to bankrolling the enterprise and helping to kill eight dogs that performed poorly. Urall. The above is what I was going by. I'm not sure if there were more dogs involved or what the whole status of this implies. The article also suggests that if he shows up dirty again....Well back to the 'ol crossbars hotel. I kind of figure that he knows he's gone So what the hell, Why not. but in his stupidity he probably didn't think about this adding more time. What ever the Judge was going to give him I think just got a little longer.

Skeet- How does Co-Producers of "The Longest Yard Reality Show" sound. We could get other inmates to tryout for the team. Each week we cut an inmate and sign one for cigarettes and phone time. We could give out one conjugal visit per week for the player that works the hardest and shows promise. Every week we cut one and he has to give up three days worth of bolgna and cheese sandwiches to the winner. We could probably even come up with a funny cheerleading squad out of all the players "punks".

I think with this last big bust that the Feds had in the steroid thing from China will be sufficient to supply names for players. But then looking at some of the cheerleaders of football....maybe steroids aren't all that bad :))) After re-reading this I wanted it noted that there was no pun intended in the "big bust" part above.

It takes roughly 30 days for weed to leave your system. Maybe Mike was toking it up and maybe he wasn't. If he was, I really don't blame him. Tell me, what else does he have as of right now besides his freedom? Time. He has plenty of time to think about everything that has taken place the past year and I'm sure he's feeling depressed and needed something to take the edge off. I'm not trying to sound like a Mike Vick apologist but I really can understand. Saying that, Mike Vick should have know better than to be caught doing anything since he has federal charges and hasn't even been sentenced as of yet and maybe this will have an impact on his sentencing. I am very pro-weed and see nothing wrong with buring a few trees now & then but then again, I don't have federal charges hanging over my head but if I did, the last thing I'll be thinking of doing is getting my burn on. I'll be thinking of doing whatever is needed of me in order for me to get as little jail time as possible.

It takes roughly 30 days for weed to leave your system. That is a myth. It takes as little as 3 days, up to 30 days for marijuana to leave the system depending upon how often you smoke it, how much of it you smoke and your metabolic rate. The more frequent use and larger amounts will stay in the body longer. The faster your metabolic rate, the faster you will break it down. I would imagine that Vick has a fairly high metabolism. Maybe Mike was toking it up and maybe he wasn't. If he was, I really don't blame him. You can't be serious.

He already pleaded guilty to these charges in his federal indictment and can't be charged with the same crime twice. Wrong. He was charged by the Feds and pled guilty to Federal charges. He can also be charged by the State of Virginia. It's not double jepoardy. Each juristiction has the right to bring charges, even if they are identical. Sentences can be served consecutively or concurrently; that's up to the judge. The dog killing charges bring a maximum sentence of 5 years on EACH COUNT. Since he's already stipulated that he participated in the killing of 6-8 dogs, he could get up to 40 years. However, the indictment only listed the single killing charge, so unless they revise the indictment, he's only subject to 5 years on that charge. There are of course other charges. I think at this point, everyone including Vick knows he's seriously screwed. No more NFL, and probably no more football period! What a dumb-ass!
