Fucking Detroit. I'm tempted to pick them to make the finals considering the run they've managed to pull together, but in the confidence pool I have the Ducks and Sabres so I'm going to ride that through to the end. ANA in 6 BUF in 7 Meszaros Numminen Franzen

So far the Senators are 2-0 on days when Roy Halladay gives up 6 or more runs in the third inning. I don't know whether to be scared or strangely comforted by this.

If the Senators are going to be good on days when the Jays suck, then the Cup is guaranteed.
posted by mkn at 09:00 AM on May 11, 2007
Well now I just need the Sabres and Ducks to sweep.

How does Roy Halladay being on the DL for the rest of the playoffs affect the Sens?

The Stanley Cup is being flown into Buffalo as we speak, and will be presented at the end of tonight's game.

Obviously we should've done the penalty kill bonus question THIS round, and not last.

With one conference finals in the books, here's the current +/- standings:
Kalinen (+9 but only 5 points) and Redden (+8) won't be able to break the top three. If Franzen does well and Chelios catches fire, wingnut4life has a shot at the Five Bonus Points of Improbability.T. Numminen (BUF) +11 4pts M. Nylander (NYR) +9 13pts J. Franzen (DET) +9 7pts

Wow, sorry, I guess Yahoo! hadn't updated their stats listing when I posted. Here's the correct +/- standings after yesterday's game:
T. Numminen (BUF) +10 4pts M. Nylander (NYR) +9 13pts J. Redden (OTT) +9 8ptsFranzen (+9, 7pts) can still break the top three, but Kalinen is eliminated.

Round 2 Standings Many thanks to qbert72 for checking my totals. Still probably a good idea for everyone to double-check their picks and points, though.
