It is a shame that Jackie Robinson wasn't openly gay. Then we gotten this all out of the way a long time ago. As wrong as I find Mr. Hardaway's opinions,I find it sickeningly refreshing to hear someone actually speak his true feelins, instead of Bald-faced lying to a PC minded public. The one thing that we tend to overlook in this country is--the thing that makes our country the best in the world is that we have the ABSOLUTE right to HATE anyone for no more than the color of their skin, or their religion,or their sexual oriantation.I truly wish that more bigots would speak their mind, for no other reason ,so we would know whom to Deify, and whom to villify.

The Wildcats shot 3 for 22 from three, and 11 for 21 from the stripe. If they had shot 70 percent from the free throw line and only 25 % from three, they would have won by double digits.Donavon was outcoached and Noah and Horford were virtually shut down. Good Luck Repeting,Billy.

Reports out of Chicago had "Uncle Lou"and the Cubbies inquiring about Sheff for left field.I guess that Matt Murton's above 300 BA,and more than decent glove aren't as good as 30 HR's.But I'm afaid that deal would involve Carlos Zambrano wearing pin stipes as well. Not worth the aggrevation CUBBIES.

I love the report of the spokesman who said that "he was a really tremendous guy, except for a few bumps in his life".Isn't that like saying that Jack the Ripper "was a really friendly chap, except for all those prostitutes that he carved up and all"?

I grew up in Wrigley field in the early to mid-60's,and had many chances to watch the Niekro brothers do their thing. They could beat you with their arms and with their bats as well. The tear in my eye reminds me well of their pitching-----Not a dry ball in the house. Bye Joe,I hope you are "safe at home"

Did anybody not see this coming?Miami doesn't field a football team , they field a gang. They have no self-control,and very little control from the coaching staff. They seem to have the Bob Huggins school of recruiting, you know{you can either do your time or join our team}Recruit Thugs and this is what you get.

If he never does it again, does he come off the list? What I am saying is---it's a season statistic. There are other "clubs" for homers and stolen bases in a career. That he has even achieved this once in his career is amazing. It seems to me that the only thing holding him back from doing it again,is that it's only been done four times in history, and noone has ever done it twice.

Thank you Stealth, you're absolutely right. But had you taken a year off, would you had a job to return to? If this man wants to be an adult,he has to know that there are hard decisions to be made. You know the rules going in.So-you make your decisions and stick with them.and don't whine about them later. Like it or not-- The NCAA is the governing body of extracuricular activities. And I stess extracuricular. It is not his, mine or anybody's birth-right to play college athletics. In a perfect world,we would all make the team. I'm sorry, but he broke the rules. Now mabe he can set a great example for his newborn,by going too school and getting his degree.

Remember the poignant pics of Keith VanHorn's wife and child, and other wives and children watching their loved one's playing in NCAA games?I don't recall them taking a year off because "they" were pregnant.Maybe I'm a dinosaur, but, when when MY son was born,I was in school, and having to work two jobs.It sure would have been nice to have spent a few more hours a day with my new family, but the next five years or so gave us all a better life. The fact that I had a new family to think of drove me to work harder and better, not to "take a year off"

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read.No batter likes to be IBB'd,no pitcher likes it either{they all believe that they can get the out}.The insult is thrown at the batter to be pitched to.What he does is the excitement of the game. This is why I prefer the NL,when you walk the 8 hitter and the pitcher comes through,it is the most exciting play in baseball. I am really glad the young man has survived cancer, but if he is in the line-up,doesn't that mean that he is a capable player?

Saddest news I've heard this week. What a competitor, and a role model for young girls everywhere. It takes an incredible amount of physical and mental toughness just to finish the Iditarod, more or less to dominate it.What say, we erect a statue of Susan and her pack at the finish line in her honor.

Hey Weedy---You could never run out of cliche`s for Flutie. There are too few "true" role models in the world of sports, and he has been a great one. The poise that he showed, playing the back-up most of his career, when he was the better talent, and still being a leader in the locker room, showed class beyond the call of duty. He may be "too short",but in my eyes--He walks with the angels

What impressed me the most about GM's victory, was that they didn't fall apart in OT.That is usually when all the wind goes out of the sails of an "upstart".They have proven once agin that B-Ball is a "team"sport, and when you play as a team, the only size that matters is the size of your valentines. As much as the SEC was belittled this year, for being "down",we got 2 in the final four, but I will still be pulling for George Mason. GO GM

Tubby Fills A Gopher Hole...
As my name implies,I am a Tubby fan,but as a long time UK fan{since 1968},the program here in Lex-town is slipping badly. 25 Losses in 2 years is intolerable here.It is now time for a change. Local fans here are hoping for Donavan{Fla},Calipari{Memphis},or Pitino{the irony,Louisville}.Any other name {Gillespie,Creen,Few} will be met with a resounding BOO. However,Minnisota is getting a GREAT coach, class act,and the finest example of a human being that I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. His concerns are with the "Student Athlete",his grad-rate is high, and the quality of his recruits is stellar.Unfortunately players with great character do not always translate to victories and national championships.{I give you Joakim Noah, with his chest-pounding,egotism that would not play with Tubby.} These three things I know are true 1-Minnasota will become a very good team 2 the Big Ten will fear Minnasota soon 3The powers that be ,the first chance they get, will set Kentucky and Minnasota on a collision course in the NCAA tournament
