cut'n'paste from the fpp: My guesses: Yankees over the Tigers : the Tigers went 40-41 since July 1st. The Yankees have gone 52-32 in the same span. With everyone healthy(er), they wear out the Tiger pitching (4) A's over the Twins: Experience and a rejuvenated Big Hurt win over my pick for 2007 World Series champion (if Liriano comes back healthy)(4) Padres over the Cardinals : it's really come down to Pujols and his average teammates, and the Padres seem more complete.(5) Dodgers over the Mets : no Pedro? No chance, especially with Lowe and Maddux getting in gear.(5)

I have no idea what I'm doing. Yeah, but as long as you look good, that's really all that matters. Yanks in 4; Twins in 5; Padres in 5; Mets in 4. I have a feeling I'm not even gonna be close, but what the hell.

No confidence points game for this playoff season? I realize that there are only 8 teams, but we haven't missed a playoff since starting the confidence games.

ALDS Yanks 3, Tigers 0: A-Rod hits .520 with an ungodly number of RBI's... this is because all three games are blow outs by the time he comes up. With his team up 5-0, there is no more dangerous hitter in baseball. Twins 3, A's 2: Where have you gone, Eric Chavez? A's starters prove to be a tad overrated, and the Twins starters after Santana prove to be a tad underrated. NLDS Cardinals 3, Padres 2: The Cardinals have God and a Carpenter on their side. Even if I thought they would lose, I wouldn't pick against them. Dodgers 4, Mets 1: Two words: Steve Trachsel. Please. If you didn't already have reason enough to hate Grady Little, he's not starting Greg Maddux opposite Tom Glavine, electing instead to give the Game 2 ball to a relief pitcher with like three career starts. Jerk. Lucky for him the Dodgers are destiny's team this year. Lucky guy, that Grady Little. World Series Twins 4, Dodgers 3. A thriller. MVP: Nick Punto.

No love for the Mets in this thread. I think they're a better team than a lot of you folks want to give them credit for.

<cracks knuckles> <polishes off last year's MLB lockerroom pick 'em winner's plaque> <offers this year's lousy picks> New York Yankees in 4 Minnesota in 5 San Diego in 3 Los Angeles in 4

Tigers in 4 Yeah I have almost no confidence in these picks but there is no way I'm picking against the Tigers. Twins in 3 The A's are always good during the regular season. Sadly for them, it isn't the regular season anymore. San Diego in 5 There can't be a 1984 World Series rematch without the Padres. Mets in 4 The Dodgers will be fortunate to take one game.

BullpenPro, if I'm not mistaken, you have the Dodgers winning 4 games in the NLDS. It's a best-of-5, not a very-best-of-5. As for me: Yankees in 5 A's in 5 Cardinals in 5 Mets in 5 Ugh... that would make for some ugly LCS. I really hope I'm wrong.
