One of my favorite parts of yesterday's marathon Lightning vs Blue Jackets' game was how the stadium crew had a "7th inning stretch" graphic ready for the break in 4OT.

Korpisalo set the modern NHL record with 85 saves; he was under siege for over 6 hours.

It was the 4th longest game in NHL history at 90:27.

Beautiful hit! One of the things that make hockey such a great sport.

The podcast route is a proven field with recent monied success (ex: Pat McAfee's show), especially if it is combined with sports gambling (McAfee's multi-year deal with FanDuel ).

BarStool appears to have built a big platform based off of a couple successful podcasts, merch/partnerships, and a whole bunch of trash articles.

A subscription model sports website which has "Without Access" in their mission statement? I wish them luck as SBNation and Deadspin have had a noticeable decline in content quality as those venues sold out to other media companies and original content creators left.

In 2019 I had the fortune to discover "The Athletic," which is a subscription model sports journalism platform which has access.

New Texas Rangers Ballpark Looks Like an Aluminum Barn

These stadiums don't even have a Stingray touch tank, or catwalks to hit pop flys off of, or a model pirate ship! ;)

Excited for the return of sports! Baseball has been interesting. There has been some /facepalm-worthy errors in last weekend's games. The rust was evident in some of the "Not Top Ten" plays, but also.. these are professional players who have played baseball their whole lives.

Hockey starts up soon and it looks to be a whirlwind of games ahead, here's hoping the Lightning get on a hot streak and win the COVID Cup. Last year's early post-season exit still smarts to a degree.

If LeBron tests COVID-positive in the NBA playoffs, will the team report it and bench him for the series, or cover it up and LeBron has a 2020 Flu Game?

The Washington Redskins

"Washington Warriors" my favorite, but unfortunately Golden State has the name. "Senators" would be an alright name, but is used by a hockey team.

Redtails is a good suggestion, but I didn't know about the African-American connection until this thread... Tough spot.

Josh McCown tweeted to Mahomes that he is going to miss out on a lot of frequent flier miles for deciding to take a 10 year deal over 10 one year deals. LOL

Liverpool win Premier League: Reds' 30-year wait for top-flight title ends

I am a casual fan of EPL (at best), as I try to follow and support MLS's growth in the states. As Liverpool has clinched the championship, will some star players now do "load management" similar to how NBA players take a couple games off per season?

MLB owners and players agree to a 60-game 2020 season

I loathe thinking this, but I would be surprised if the planned MLB "regular season" does not get cut short due to public pressure if Covid19 x regular seasonal flu hits hard in a couple months.

Discovered the story of Peter Norman this morning: Australian 200m sprinter in the 1968 Mexico Olympics who stood with two black Americans on the victory pedestal. Forever after, he was shunned by the AUS sports community. Norman wasn't invited as part of the Australian delegation for the opening of the 2000 Sydney games, but the US invited him to attend as part of the US delegation..
