Arbroath: Can Dick Campbell's high-flying part-time side really reach the top flight?

I clicked on this article and was confused thinking it was about Dan Cambell and the Detroit Lions, possibly having some sort of "side-gig."

> My favorite Urban Meyer quote, and the moment when I knew he'd never make it in the pros is when he said in so many words: "The NFL is insane. It's like playing Alabama every week."

what a quote!

Catching up on off-ice drama surrounding my Lightning, and I saw that some in the Hurricanes' fanbase were mad over how the Lightning were able to build their roster. The Lightning have been circumventing the salary cap all season long. The St. Louis Blues have been too, as have several other teams. However, not all cap circumvention is illegal. The LTIR has always been a way for teams to circumvent the salary cap.

Nevertheless, I am glad to see Nikita Kucherov skating again.

FWIW, the Saints have been using a reliever for Brees at various times during their season, and it paid off when Brees was out due to injury.

Dolphins are bringing baseball into the NFL with their strategy of having a starter, and then subbing in a reliever QB.

That is a dominating performance by a punter. Similar to when Michael Dickson (Seahawks punter) was named MVP of the Texas Bowl after a highlight performance of:

Dickson punted 11 times. Ten of those kicks were downed inside the Tigers' 15-yard line. Four of Mizzou's drives started inside its own 10. When the Aussie did finally get a chance to show off his big boot, he blasted the ball 58 yards. And one of his punts even set up a third-quarter safety.

One of my favorite parts of yesterday's marathon Lightning vs Blue Jackets' game was how the stadium crew had a "7th inning stretch" graphic ready for the break in 4OT.

Korpisalo set the modern NHL record with 85 saves; he was under siege for over 6 hours.

It was the 4th longest game in NHL history at 90:27.

The podcast route is a proven field with recent monied success (ex: Pat McAfee's show), especially if it is combined with sports gambling (McAfee's multi-year deal with FanDuel ).

BarStool appears to have built a big platform based off of a couple successful podcasts, merch/partnerships, and a whole bunch of trash articles.

A subscription model sports website which has "Without Access" in their mission statement? I wish them luck as SBNation and Deadspin have had a noticeable decline in content quality as those venues sold out to other media companies and original content creators left.

In 2019 I had the fortune to discover "The Athletic," which is a subscription model sports journalism platform which has access.
