Bettor turns $5 NFL parlay into $84,565 with Bears Win: One NFL bettor went into Monday night’s game between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks with $84,565 at stake. The Bears win, and he or she cashes in. They lose, and he or she gets nothing.

A commander in the US Navy would not command a large vessel or unit; usually it would be a destroyer or smaller warship, an aviation squadron, or a small naval station.
Nailed it. "The Captains" would also be a decent name, have an okay abbreviation in "Cap'ts" or "Caps." 06 definitely has more sway over assets and personnel. I can't help but feel like this is a step backwards from WFT, but perhaps the Commanders have a capable marketing and advertising team to sell the new brand.

The Miami Dolphins owner offering Flores 100k per loss in order to improve the team's draft position. One owner attempting to influence and throw the games.
Combined with the NFL embracing sports gambling.
It would be extra interesting if the Miami district opens a criminal investigation over these allegations.

The timeline of events based on the texts is pretty damning, plus the sloppy and lack of professionalism by the Denver interviewing team... Yikes.
I hope Flores does not settle before discovery (or settles at all!) and this leads to more discoveries on the hidden side of NFL franchises.

Makes me sad as a Bucs fan to see the TB12 era end, but I'm glad it happened. Watching the Buccaneers transform from the Sucs to an NFL powerhouse made everything else in 2020 a lot more palatable. I have a picture of Tom Brady warming up at Raymond James Stadium for a 2012 preseason game. If someone told me then, that TB12 would be a Buccaneer in 8 years, there would be 0 chance I would have ever believed them.

Not sure how I missed the news, but I wasn't aware that the US was hosting any olympics this decade. TIL!

"WHO?! Mike Jones!"
Honestly, the radio stations of the mid-2000s played Mike Jones so much that that call and response is likewise drilled into my mind.

I clicked on this article and was confused thinking it was about Dan Cambell and the Detroit Lions, possibly having some sort of "side-gig."

> My favorite Urban Meyer quote, and the moment when I knew he'd never make it in the pros is when he said in so many words: "The NFL is insane. It's like playing Alabama every week."
what a quote!

Catching up on off-ice drama surrounding my Lightning, and I saw that some in the Hurricanes' fanbase were mad over how the Lightning were able to build their roster. The Lightning have been circumventing the salary cap all season long. The St. Louis Blues have been too, as have several other teams. However, not all cap circumvention is illegal. The LTIR has always been a way for teams to circumvent the salary cap.
Nevertheless, I am glad to see Nikita Kucherov skating again.

FWIW, the Saints have been using a reliever for Brees at various times during their season, and it paid off when Brees was out due to injury.

Dolphins are bringing baseball into the NFL with their strategy of having a starter, and then subbing in a reliever QB.

That is a dominating performance by a punter. Similar to when Michael Dickson (Seahawks punter) was named MVP of the Texas Bowl after a highlight performance of:
Dickson punted 11 times. Ten of those kicks were downed inside the Tigers' 15-yard line. Four of Mizzou's drives started inside its own 10. When the Aussie did finally get a chance to show off his big boot, he blasted the ball 58 yards. And one of his punts even set up a third-quarter safety.
