LIVERPOOL vs A.C. MILAN!!: Can't believe there isn't a thread about this already... Shevchenko and Hyppia are ready to go! I'm BBQing with friends at the house, we'll be watching it LIVE! I'm FREAKING OUT!!!

Poland vs Mexico!!: In an international friendly, Mexico will "host" Poland, April 27th at, you guessed it...Soldier Field in Chicago! With huge populations of both Mexicans and Poles, everyone is already saying its going to be one of the biggest soccer matches in the US. It will sell out for sure. And I'm gonna be there! I just hope there isn't a riot!

Knocked him down twice!: Golota sends Ruiz face first to the mat twice, yet the judges give Ruiz a unanimous decision. So WHY does boxing suck?! Great article here about our boy from Chicago... I have no idea how he lost in a unanimous decision when he controlled the whole fight and didn't get penalized a single point. Don King sucks.

Introducing Utah's team: Real Salt Lake: Did we cover this already? I remember discussing that Dallas is changing its name to FC Dallas and we pretty much agreed that it was a welcome change. But Real Salt Lake!? Now I'm pretty sure that Real means Royal in Spanish, and I don't know what the particular reason for calling Real Madrid, ROYAL Madrid is...maybe someone can inform us about the naming of all those Real teams in Spain. And don't forget about Club Deportivo Chivas USA...uh, is the USA at the end necessary?

How Soccer Is Eating America: Yet another article about how soccer/football is getting more and more popular in America...we can only hope. "The rest of the world has been worried for some time that America will try and change soccer. The truth is that soccer is changing America," writes Steven Wells.

Andrew Johnson Will Play For Poland! : His grandfather was born in Poland and apparently he is very proud of his Polish Heritage. Should be interesting to see how this develops. Polish scouts were at his game at Birmingham and Pawel Janas is considering calling him up for the friendly against France.

USA vs Poland at Soldier Field in Chicago tonight!!: Anyone else going? I'm going! Can't wait. Though I heard that Poland is bringing their "C" team. At least 80% of the players called up have never been capped. After that, its the Fire vs New England...but i don't know if i am going to stay for that. Depends on how expensive the beer is!

OH MY GOD!: One of the most exciting games I have ever seen... I almost had a freakin' heart attack...no joke! I got up after City's leveller and felt lightheaded...almost fell over. And then when they got the winner in the last minute I pulled a muscle somewhere. The FA Cup has never been more intense...well at least since I've been alive. Manchester City beat Tottenham 4-3...away, with Anelka and their first 2 keepers out, playing with 10 men after halftime and down 3-0... Unbelievable.

Sports cars: ...whats YOUR favorite. I have many...but i came across this one and became inspired to post, the Mercedes SLR McLaren AMG. With a 5.5 Liter, 600 Horsepower V8 Engine. This should be a fun thread.

Kirkland is out for the season...now maybe Liverpool will win!: Jerzy Dudek is back between the sticks! Kirkland was hit hard and has some serious damage to his knee. Now if Gerard Houllier can drop Heskey, Murphy and Carragher...Liverpool can get their winning ways back and climb their way back up the table!! Arsenal should start worrying now.

McBride Joins Everton!: I know this is a few days old, but no one else had posted it and I thought it was kind of important. McBride is the only US World Cup player (so far) to go to Europe...and this is only for 3 months. I know there is a whole debate about Landovan and Beasley either staying in MLS to help it or go to Europe to represent. I don't have a formulated opinion on it really...I just hope the MLS keeps getting bigger either way.

Champions League Tonight!: Liverpool VS Valencia...If Liverpool win they will have 10 points, a share of the group lead and a foot in the last 16. With Jerzy Dudek in goal and Michael Owen in attack, I would say Liverpool should win tonight. Other matches tonight include: Dortmund VS Arsenal and Real Madrid VS Roma. All of you living in Europe, you really have no idea how lame it is here in the US. Maybe you do, I don't know...but if I don't move out there soon I am going to freak out!

Roma VS Lazio: Great game. Last year's derby was just as good, maybe better. This is one of my favorite annual games... along with Liverpool VS Manchester United... Did anyone actually see this game? For some reason, FOXSPORTSWORLD no longer carries the Serie A. And boy do I miss it!

Liverpool lose to Bayer Leverkusen...4-2. 4-3 on aggregate.: A minute after Gerard Houllier substituted Didi Hamann form Vladimir Smicer, Bayer Leverkusen scored. What was the reason for this?! And why didn't Michael Owen finish any of his 3 chances?! A disappointing match. Exciting as hell, but my team is now out of the Champion's League.

The World Cup and Hooligans in Japan/S. Korea: Japan is worried about English hooligans. Some shopowners are taking out insurance in case things get really out of control. Some are planning on closing their stores for the whole month. I think they are over-reacting. This is the WORLD CUP PEOPLE! It wouldn't be the same WITHOUT hooligans!

National Teams?: Looks like Poland has started a trend among National Soccer teams with the citizenship of Emanuelle Olisadebe. I don't know if this is a good thing. Players representing countries should at least have been born there, or have some kind of familial ties to the country they play for. Now Japan has 3 Brazilians playing for their National team! Whats up with that?!

Timeouts In Soccer!?!?: I don't like this a bit. I don't even like that they are considering it. One of the greatest things about soccer is the fact that there ARE no timeouts. Its non-stop action. There is no commercial every 3 minutes of playtime. Corporations will stop at nothing to get airtime. Some of the proponents of this idea say it has nothing to do with advertising....whatever. Thats exactly what its about. Soccer has been played this way for over 100 years. Don't tell me that athletes these days need more water breaks than they did years ago.
