Count your blessings, at least Peter Reid isn't on the market at the moment!

How did I know SF would race in to post this news? Will the new boy come from the EPL, Spain, Portugal, the team's own past or be a bold move like grabbing a youngster like Dennis Wise?

Yeah, who would be a good candidate? I would prefer Ranieri.

Good news: Houllier has gone. Bad news: Ron Atkinson's back in management. Good news: At least they sold Emile Heskey first... Bad News: ...two years too late. Good News: Michael Owen will now sign a new contract. Bad News: So will Bruno Cheyrou. (feel free to carry this on...)

Oho! Liverpool go for Mourinho. And after reading this, I'd be pleased as punch if they get him.

A couple of things have been getting on my nerves about this. First, the absolute insistence that he hasn't been sacked and is leaving with dignity intact. What utter cobblers; it is as plain as the nose on Phil Thompsons face that he didn't want to go. Only the day before, he had been insisting that he was 100 per cent certain that he was staying. If being allowed to make a complete tit of yourself is leaving with dignity, I need a new dictionary. Second, Rick Parry's statement that reaching the champions league is a minimum standard, rather than a goal. Well, he has set the bar pretty high now hasn't he, the arrogant tit? What happens if they finish 5th next year, apart from me laughing my bollocks off?

What happens if they finish 5th next year, apart from me laughing my bollocks off? I think you know the answer to that without asking.

And the new manager is Benitez?

Hurrah. Now watch as Liverpool appoint an as-yet-unheard-of Thai manager.
