Damn, I forgot all about that discussion. Thanks for adding it, chico. You earn extra Alice Cooper points.

Hart - Joe Thorton Vezina - Mikka Kipprusoff Calder - Sidney Crosby Norris - Nicolas Lidstrom Adams - Peter Laviolette Selke - Rod Brind'amour Byng - worst award ever This is a little different than the locker room discussion because we now have the finalist, before we were just throwing shite out there.

No, it's cool. I just figured that I'm way too lazy to type my picks out again, or even cut & paste. You know whow it is. It was purely a selfish, lazy move on my part.

All good my friend. I still like you despite all the Flyers bashing.

Did they read the description of Norris trophy when they selected the finalists? The James Norris Trophy is awarded annually "to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability in the position," When you look at the stats the article shows, they all have good offensive numbers but Neidermeyer was only a +8 (ranked 46th). Doesn't sound like an all around ability to me. Of course, I could just be bitter.

Hart - Joe Thorton Vezina - Mikka Kipprusoff Calder - Sidney Crosby Norris - Nicolas Lidstrom Adams - Peter Laviolette Selke - Rod Brind'amour Byng - Hatrick Marleau personal Thornton's got my vote ,but i am biased (GO SHARKS) ,but the east coast media will give it to Jagr

Yeah man, I think Scheinder should at least get nominated over Neidermayer.
posted by HATER 187 at 03:02 PM on May 04, 2006
I'm sticking with my picks from the other thread, except I'll now choose Brind'amour for the Selke. I was pulling names out of my ass for my pick there. Everyone else I choseback then has been nominated, so despite my Round 1 picks at least I can be accurate about something hockey related.

If Lindstrom does not win the Norris trophy I will lead a group to go to either New Jersey or Dallas to tear down the stadium of the wrongfull winner in protest. I also think Scheinder should have gotten consideration, especially since he was the only Red Wing that really produced in the playoffs.

If Lindstrom does not win the Norris trophy I will lead a group to go to either New Jersey... If you are talking about Niedermeyer, he is in Anaheim now. And I'll be part of that group. I know Neidermeyer is better than what the +/- stat shows, but I think his nomination is more because of name recognition and past performance.

remember the playoffs don't count..the votes are done at the end of the regular season,by gm's&media types..plus the players pick the pearson award winner, which to me is more meaningful ,from a players perspective...

I'm not talking hockey right now. I'm still bitter... lidstrom's a lock for the norris and who friggin' cares about the byng? it's like mr. irrelevant in the nfl draft...

If you are talking about Niedermeyer, he is in Anaheim now. Well that really lessens the effectiveness of my post...If someone could fix that I'd appreciate it.

Jagr eats cock! gobblegobblegobble. Hart: Thornton Vezina: Kipper Calder: Ovechkin Adams: Ruff (fucking Lindy Ruff) Selke: Brind'Amour Norris: Lidstrom Byng: Your Mom - after last night, she earned it. Strange - my picks haven't changed since the locker room session. Except Mike Babcock wasn't nominated for the Adams (Tom Renney = joke). You know what that means? I am so smart, S-M-R-T.

Alright, for the record: I love the Lady Byng. I think it not only rewards a worthwhile quality that should be celebrated in the game (just like the Selke), but looking over the list of players who've won it, I can't help but think... I'd take the Lady Byng winners against those of any other award. (I'm not saying they'd beat a team of Hart winners, but that'd be a hell of a series.) I'm thinking this defense out as I type this, so if I post again in five minutes, understand that's partly the Cinco de Mayo talking.

I'm sticking to my guesses before the nominations were announced, but I'll have to make one modification as my guess for the Selke (Morrow) wasn't even nominated. Selke: Brind'Amour

I'm shocked that Kaberle wasn't nominated. Anti-Leaf conspiracy I tell you! I thought Morrow was an awesome nomination, mostly because I like hit stats. Also, Fisher is a great choice none of us spofites came up with. I guess the MSHM doesn't steal all of their ideas from this site.

I'm not saying they'd beat a team of Hart winners I think that the outcome would be greatly influenced by the team that gets Gretzky.

Oh, there'd be two Gretzkys. Cloning has come a long way.

Alright, for the record: I love the Lady Byng. It's nice to see that someone is in touch with their softer side (I was going to say feminine but that's just not right). Have another Corona and have a happy Cinco de Mayo, brother!
