Top 10 Worst First Pitches: Including Mariah Carey in heels and Carl Lewis not running.

What was wrong with Annika Sorenstam's pitch? She's a golfer from Sweden and she still got the ball to go about 59 feet. Sure, it was a quite a bit outside, but come on, she's a Swedish golfer. What more do you want? Now the Carl Lewis "pitch." That was some great stuff. Uh-oh, indeed, Mr. Lewis.

I wondered the same thing. A one-bouncer is not that bad.

Yeah, I didn't get that one either. I guess they expected a 90 mph heater on the corner.

I could watch the Mariah Carey video all day. It's surreal.

I noticed that when Patrick Sharp threw the warm-up pitch at the beginning of the clip he threw it right handed. After he caught the throw back he looked like he was going to throw it left handed but they cut away a bit early to tell for sure.

"That's almost ten..."

Fun link justgary, thanks.

How could they miss the T-Rex?

I'm glad they spared Ted Kennedy...his was a bit like Carey's, but given the situation damn good.

Sorestam did a fine job.

As to the others, one would think you'd go practice a few times prior to taking the mound...or, perhaps not.

Dateline-New York...April 9, 2009

Head of Yankees organization Hank Steinbrenner announces signing of baby T-Rex in trade with stage production of Walking With Dinosaurs pending physical. In return, Walking With Dinosaurs get C.C. Sabathia and cash consideration. When reached for comment, baby T-Rex devoured Brian Cashman.

TMZ is reporting that a tailor had to be brought in to "let out" C.C.'s new T-Rex costume. One producer, who wishes to remain anonymous, was quoted as saying "He's just too big!"

Oh, come on, Patrick Sharp's slap pitch was fricken' awesome.

Oh snap! And so was baby T-Rex!

A few years back, there was a charity exhibition game at old Yankee Stadium - celebrities versus baseball legends or old timers or something like that.

Donald Trump played first base for the celebrity team. I saw video of infield warmups and some game footage. I could not believe how sharp Trump looked out there.

His uniform fit him perfectly and he looked good in it (a team of Brooks Brothers tailors on 24 hour standby, no doubt). (The cap helped put the hairstyle issue to rest temporarily.)

But what killed was his glove work and footwork around the bag. Unbelievable. Crisp, and pretty darned athletic. He was ready.

It turns out that he had been training intensively for that game for weeks. Because he didn't want to embarrass himself and look like a doofus on the field.

So, Carl Lewis and all the rest, there you have it. It's up to you. You can be blooper material or you can do like the Donald and work it out a little bit ahead of time to avoid public embarrassment.

That's about as far as I can go holding Donald Trump up as a role model without having to issue a call for Hughie.

The mayor's pitch not worth 2 cents, Eric Davis' reaction, priceless.

Mariah's pitch I'm okay with, watched it three times. Not an athlete, allows herself to be viewed objectively.

Carl Lewis is an athlete. Throws like a girl. Should have opted out. Or practiced.

Carl Lewis shouldn't be allowed to officially start any type of game. Whether it's throwing out a first pitch or singing the National Anthem, he's a disaster.

Don't you mean objectified? Which could probably describe her career as well.

Not much of a singer but sleeps with the boss and allows herself to be objectified.

Awesome. You just described most of the singers I have worked with.

Sweet deal if you're the boss.

I could watch the Mariah Carey video all day.

The shit-eating grin on the catchers face was pricelss. I don't think he was even aware that she threw the ball. I had to watch it 9 times before I did.
