Wait...no one has asked this yet? What if the MVP is a pitcher you use his batting average? Red Sox in 6 Beckett .000 92
posted by YukonGold at 07:02 AM on October 24, 2007
That's what I assumed, Yukon. I know Beckett can hit a little, so I went with that.

I'm playing the odds. 2-3 ABs max, one will be a bunt
posted by YukonGold at 09:38 AM on October 24, 2007
For the purposes of this pick 'em we will assign anyone with 0 AB an average of .000, so yes, even pitchers will end up with a batting average. Same as last year. As well, since the MVP/AVG bonuses aren't linked to each other, you can hedge your bet by picking one player for your MVP, and then picking an average he's unlikely to have.

.375. Nobody ever sufficiently explained what a period is to me. Take that however you want it.

Congratulations, apoch. Your only correct pick was the tiebreaker, which was worth no points. That's impressive. I'll post the final standings tomorrow.

Beckett and Francis take home the ERA titles. Manny Ramirez leads the RBI way with 10; Holliday and Torrealba both had 4 to lead the NL, so all three players were valid double-or-nothing picks. Even with those increased odds, skydivemom is the only player to nail the double-or-nothing and take home the four points.
