Please double-check your picks to make sure they're all tallied up properly. Thanks! That didn't take long. Now I have to do some research into this "bowling" thing.

And that Manny chap. He hasn't let me down in the past. Don't know why I found that so hilarious. Maybe I do understand Australian humor.

Official Rules, Section 7.08 Any runner is out when -- (b) He intentionally interferes with a thrown ball; or hinders a fielder attempting to make a play on a batted ball; Rule 7.08(b) Comment: A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not. If, however, the runner has contact with a legally occupied base when he hinders the fielder, he shall not be called out unless, in the umpire’s judgment, such hindrance, whether it occurs on fair or foul territory, is intentional. If the umpire declares the hindrance intentional, the following penalty shall apply: With less than two out, the umpire shall declare both the runner and batter out. With two out, the umpire shall declare the batter out. If, in a run-down between third base and home plate, the succeeding runner has advanced and is standing on third base when the runner in a run-down is called out for offensive interference, the umpire shall send the runner standing on third base back to second base. This same principle applies if there is a run-down between second and third base and succeeding runner has reached second (the reasoning is that no runner shall advance on an interference play and a runner is considered to occupy a base until he legally has reached the next succeeding base). So that's why Snyder was sent back to second?

David Ortiz leads both leagues in postseason average, going 5/7 with 6 walks. The AL led in run differential by 17. Since nobody nailed it right on, I decided to award a point if you were within 5 points either way. (The same system is used in the weekly CFL pick 'em for spread calculations.) If too many people think this is unfair, we can put it to a vote.
- If you choose to make a double-or-nothing pick, and you get both Regular Bonus picks correct and the Double-or-Nothing Bonus pick correct, you will be awarded four total points. However, if you get any of these bonus picks wrong, you will be awarded zero bonus points.
- If you choose not to make a double-or-nothing pick, your Regular Bonus will be awarded as usual, one point for each correct pitcher.
- If you make a double-or-nothing pick and then change your mind, you can withdraw it anytime before the beginning of the LCS (just post a comment and tell us so).
Total points (playing double-or-nothing): 4 LCS + 4 bonus = 8. Total points (not playing double-or-nothing): 4 LCS + 2 bonus = 6. Good luck!posted by DrJohnEvans at 09:15 PM on October 09, 2007
