Times change things get more expensive, I think everyone understands that, but what the Giants in particular are doing is a crying shame. Seat increases come with the territory, but the institution of PSL's is a big giant f-u to their current ticket holders. A good portion of the patrons that fill that stadium are about to lose a piece of their family heritage. Tickets that have been in families for generations are going to find their themselves in new hands. Not the hands of fans who were there in 4-12 seasons. It happens, it's just sad. John Mara can make his own decisions, but it doesn't seem to match up with what his father had planned. Charge the corporations - Dear ExxonMobil, you want one of our nice new luxury boxes? They're $500,000 more now, you're picking up the tab for our fans.

I don't think the 68 includes his penalty. Still (if my math is right) making the move just for the ManYoo backfield would have netted you +10 over a standard 2 point result even with the deductions, so in theory gambling can pay off.

Yeah, Manny's got more talent in some ways than any ballpark can hold. Great statement. I think the game is just so easy for Manny at times, but his personality is so opposite the other players of his caliber. He doesn't seem to retreat to the dark pursuit of being perfect, looking for that edge and smelling his own ass in the way other players have in recent years. Yes, it's a contract year - but I think he's just swinging the bat and playing the game as much as it is contractual motivation. For reference of how far Manny had fallen out of favor, this was Baseball Prospectus' projection for 2008. .281 AVG 74 R 22 HR 89 RBI
