Shame they didn't do the experiment in reverse too.

Just played my wildcard; not that the team were doing badly just there's money to be made in the long gameweek, and I hate having the fecking wildcard and want rid of it.

Though having said that I suppose as you're both Americans you probably signed up whilst the vast majority of the most likely entrants (Brits) were fast asleep.

btw, how's everyone doing on their Head-to-Head Leagues? As luck would have it, billsaysthis and I are in the same one.
That's an astonishing coincidence unless you picked your teams in unison. As I understand it the Head to Head leagues are just each 20 entrants in order of registering their teams.

The concession stands sold both bottled water and bottled beer, however the staff had to take the bottle caps off for you, presumably so you wouldn't have a heavy object to throw.... I'm assuming these are plastic bottles? Now don't quote me on this but I have been told that the reasoning behind removing the caps is that empty bottles dumped in the aisles with their caps on represent a hazard. A bottle without it's cap will crush easily under your foot but one with it's cap on won't. Could be bullshit but that's what I was told by a steward at a Premiership football game.

I saw this story on BBC Breakfast whilst half asleep this morning and I must admit it did seem a little strange that established teams like Widnes and Wakefield had been overlooked in favour of two teams I'd never even heard of. But then I suppose I don't follow rugby league that closely. However despite my relative lack of interest in the eggchasing I second the suggestion of a rugby category as it's a perfectly cromulent sport whatever the code.

Fine by me as I always run out of mini-leagues. You still wouldn't win though.

So there are two Spofi leagues as it stands now: the incumbent auto-renewing one and the new one. Are we going to keep both? I'd say keep the incumbent auto-renewing one as it's less effort for the participants. Newbie players can request the code to join.

Yeah, I'm in. Who f-n told squealy? No one told me. The admin of last year's league chose to reactivate the old league. I did this myself for another league that I admin. This automatically puts all those teams who were in the league last season into this season's league as soon as they set up their team. Those who don't want to take part in this reactivated league have to opt out themselves. Boy that was confusing.

I'm sure Barca will be chuffed that Henry's agreed to play. Not that I have the faintest idea what a pick-up game is.

Good game. I don't really understand all the Terry hatred. He took a penalty, lost his footing, hit the post and because of Anelka's miss was upset that he'd contributed to his team losing the final. That's about all there is to it really.

Live on Sky Sports 1. What do you mean what's Sky Sports 1? My lot are struggling to avoid the drop. Even a win might not be enough. Looks like we're on our way back down to the Fizzypop League again. No one to blame but ourselves though.

It's difficult to dislike a player who has contributed so much to my Fantasy Football team over the past few seasons, but somehow I still do. Less so than before as he tends to cheat less nowadays though he can still be a dirty, diving cheat as he ably demonstrated during the Barca match. Stay on yer feet son and try to pass the ball occasionally rather than either throwing yourself to the floor or trying some ludicrous effort on goal. You'd be a lot more popular.

Squealy, if you mouse over your team's name in the list on the side, it will hilight their line in the charts. Cheers bender but it was the tables underneath I was talking about. Doesn't matter now anyway as the site owner is going to fix it - thanks Ken. All hail the power of SpoFi.

I find it hard to believe there'd be enough of a crowd to make a discernible noise at a game between Blackpool Reserves and Burnley Reserves, though I suppose it is a local derby. The story was obviously big news in Blackpool though if Bo's link is anything to go by.

Apparently Birmingham City have no chance of winning the Premiership this season. I'm heartbroken. Good site though. One slight grumble is that it's difficult to follow the teams' data line across the tables, which could easily be fixed by shading or adding gridlines.

I hope Torres pulls the cat out of the bag on Wednesday or I'll have made a very, very stupid double transfer unbalancing my team for no reason. He was bloody hopeless against Bolton. Irony was is that I was going to ignore the Liverpool double gameweek and swap idiot Petrov for Cahill but got greedy. Will I never learn?

Do exhibition matches in foreign countries get TV coverage? They can do over here in England yes. Particularly if they're part of a mini-tournament like for instance the annual Amsterdam one. Normally the summer football tours of the bigger English clubs will get a showing too. The whole idea of this 39th game abroad is bizarre. I can't believe that it even got to the drawing board let alone beyond it.

I've warmed to him somewhat, which wasn't difficult seeing as my perspective after he got Rooney sent off was glacial. He coped well with the grief he got after that, a little like Beckham's pathetic sending off against the Argies proved to be a turning point. He's even started doing post-match interviews now and comes across as a self-effacing, modest young man. And he plays with a smile on his face, which is always good to see. He's still a twat though.

Even at that rate, there aren't enough weeks left in the season for me. You never know. It is possible to make huge jumps in the standings just by getting your captaincy choice right a few times. As if that were any easy thing to do. Must dash, I've got £3.2m to spend on squad strengthening to avoid the traditional Xmas carnage with rested players and the like.
