Week 22 update for the Spofi EPL fantasy footie.: Ronaldo runs riot and pleases all who had him captain. At least until you notice that he was also captain of the teams that you had any hope of passing. Ah well.

The pool average of 70.0 is the highest yet. Squealy's week score of 102 is the highest yet with the top 4 scores this week all beating the previous high that was 90 (set by Yukon United in week 15). Personal best weeks posted by AFX Argonauts, Ball Booters, The UnNamed, The Foreign Exchange, The Bazooka Joes, Crap City United, Phatcat FC, Salmacis FC, Velocity Boys, Buckeye FC, Ardley Athletic, jellyfish-in-trifle, Unsuitably Named , Ladyboy's Garters, Red Dragons If you didn't have your best week I guess you didn't have enough ManU, Villa or Everton players.

with the international break coming again soon perhaps the time is night to use the wildcard and blow up my squad.

@WC: As well as you did this week, I would just like to point out that you don't have a color bar on your score and indeed rather than moving into the top three you actually dropped a spot (like me). PPPPPhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just my luck to rack up 71 and have it be average. Damn Ronaldo owners.

Phew, I survived a week without Ronaldo as captain (which helped quite a few folks it appears).

I've got no problems with my team, have pretty much the players I want but am certainly losing ground on the top of the table. Oh well. At least I won this pool once so I don't have to be all Sisyphus FC.

Indeed, this weekend's experience was very much like winning a lottery and discovering that everyone else had also won ... bigger prizes than you. Having said that, I'm only 1 point behind #5 and have moved closer, points-wise, to #3 and #4 than in previous weeks. My only mistake was expecting that Portsmouth would beat Sunderland. This week, I'll be back up in the top 5, possibly top 4.

Just my luck to rack up 71 and have it be average. No kiddin'. 83 points and not a hint of color. And I did it without Ronaldo, no less!

Never should've dropped Tevez. Doh!

ARRRGGGGHHHHH! I hate this fucking game.

No kiddin'. 83 points and not a hint of color. And I did it without Ronaldo, no less! That's admirable, and I like the look of your team. Fact is though you'll do shit all in this game without Ronaldo. He's the new Henry.

Yeah, but he's a dick. He's the Roger Clemens of soccer, and since I'm not going to win, I can stand on principle and leave him off my team. I don't want to ever be put in a situation where I have to cheer for him to do anything other than choke.

I've warmed to him somewhat, which wasn't difficult seeing as my perspective after he got Rooney sent off was glacial. He coped well with the grief he got after that, a little like Beckham's pathetic sending off against the Argies proved to be a turning point. He's even started doing post-match interviews now and comes across as a self-effacing, modest young man. And he plays with a smile on his face, which is always good to see. He's still a twat though.

Chico. A man after my own heart.

May you all burn in Old Trafford hell. Except maybe Squealy. I'm not sure twat-calling is a burnable offense.

I believe it is an event at one of those hunting competitions though.

Picked the wrong guy for captain this week 23. Ronaldo got a nice goal but Benjani got a hattrick!

And I had my finger on the "sell" button for Keane when he didn't start, but then he scored... Seems like Ramos should look at Keano's form and start him. Defoe? C'mon. That cost me a whole extra point for minutes played.

And to think, I almost gave up Benjani to get Ronaldo.
posted by The_Black_Hand at 08:55 PM on January 19, 2008
I have Benjani but Adebayor was my captain this week, not a bad second choice. I need Gerrard to get another hat trick tomorrow and big points from Petrov, Lescott and Laursen would help since despite nice scoring today I'm still 16 points behind the team ahead of me.
