Bonds says 2006 will be his last season.: "I want to play this year out, hopefully win, and once the season is over, go home and be with my family. Maybe then everybody can just forget about me."
Already have Barry. Too bad he didn't say 2005 was his last year. Hope he doesn't break the record or get a ring, which sucks to say cuz some of those guys on that team deserve to win the Big one.

Thank God. Trust me, I'll forget about him.

Good idea you've done enough It won't be respected if you break the home run record any way

I heard Brett Favre's retiring, too...four years ago.

We will never forget Barry Bonds...say what you want, he has incredible vision at the plate. Even if he didn't take steroids, his hitting would still be solid (unless some of the drugs enhanced his eyesight). We are saying good bye to someone who knows his strike zone. Too bad he was such an asshole on the side.

Sorta strange-once the spotlight was on Baroid Bonds he just couldn't perform. Then comes up with excuses about he didn't know what stuff was-Bull*&&^. Glad to see Bonds for one more year struggling without the dope. Too bad he's a cheater cause he really did have talent.

This will be his last year if he stays healthy. I have always wandered about him and Big Mac. Steriods will finally take a toll on the body. Doesn't it seem kind of ironic that both of them couldn't play a whole season their last 3 or 4 years. Could it be that the 'roids caught up with both of them?

I think Barry was good until he got caught in his little act of using "muscle enhancement" drugs. He is no better than Conseco

It's not about winning a world series that brings Bonds back for one more year as he says. If he can hobble thru this year and hit 25 to 30 home runs you can bet your life he'll return for an extra season to try and break Hank Aarons HR record, despite his one year claim. Bonds hates the media and baseball fans. He'd love to break the HR record just to stick it to everyone who loves the game.

I'm not sure where some of you are coming off with statements like this: Steriods will finally take a toll on the body. LOL. He's 41 years old. How many 41 year old non-pitchers have a shot at starting 100 games / 400 PA? Not many. if not for steroids Bonds would have gotten 50 carreer homeruns LOL. Even if you throw out his suspected use years. Hell, throw out his last 10 years, he's still got 250+ homers & 3 MVP's. Hall worthy before any of that. He is no better than Conseco Gratned, Bonds is an asshole, generally. Granted, he's been on the juice for some time. He's still a hell of a ball player.

Good luck Barry, when you finish baseball I hope you truely find the peace and the love you had for baseball in something else. If you don't break the homerun record, I do think you have one of the top SFMHA (Sportsfilter Most Hated Athlete) records.

Bonds waited out almost two years with his bullshit injury, when really he was weening his body of the roids. now the cheater will only stay in baseball long enough to take over Babe Ruth in the record books. He is known racist, thats why he won't take over his godfather Hank, he probably knows the truth that Barry has injected himself for years. Think about it, even off roids Barry can probably hit enough homeruns to get him past Babe. Such a shame, I wonder how he sleeps at night and looks his kids in the eyes in the morning.

His godfather Hank? Don't blame Baroid on Aaron. You might be thinking of Mays. On his retirement, I thought that was last year. He and BigMac couldn't carry Ruth's bat or glove.

For all of you that aren't SF Giants fans and don't get the privilege of hearing this from Bonds pretty much every year, the thing is, he's not going anywhere. He says he wants to quit about 2 or 3 times a year, usually when he's in a bad mood. And trust me, that record means a lot to him. Once he gets close he'll come back, especially if the Giants are winning and suddenly baseball is "fun" again. So take this latest "I'm quitting" statement in context. We've (us Giants fans) have heard it many times before. It's just Barry being Barry the whiner. He'll be back after this year, count on it.

He is known racist Bull, that's a ridiculous statement to make. According to a couple of ex-teammates Barry is not a racist, he just hates everybody, black, white, brown, purple, whatever. And if you're basing your opinion on Jeff Kent, Will Clark, etc...leaving the Giants, well, Kent and Clark are two of the biggest country-bumpkin racist boys on the planet (and no, I'm not black, just a Giants fan). So it goes both ways with those two guys. In fact, Kent is no poster boy for clubhouse unity. Most of his ex-teammates hate his guts just as much as players hate Bonds.

Bonds waited out almost two years with his bullshit injury, when really he was weening his body of the roids. You got that right. My running joke is this: Instead of saying "This guy's in a slump," I just say "Hmmm, he must be cycling down." The only thing I liked about Barry was that he spoke his mind and didn't suck any reporters' ass. Other than that, see ya! Time for him to go see the dermatologist for that bad case of acne on his back (gee, where did that come from?).

He'll be back, after this season, but not as a Giant. I think he'll end up in the AL as a DH for some series-contending team. Then again, being a Giants fan, maybe, just maybe they (the Giants) will pull a rabbit out of a hat and win it all......not likely, but dreams are all I have.

Bonds waited out almost two years with his bullshit injury, when really he was weening his body of the roids You know, I'm pretty sure having three surgeries performed on your knees, taking anti-infection medication, and going through physiotherapy for almost half a year is the best way to "ween" your body from anything. how do you know how long he's been useing drugs? Well, according to all the arm-chair physicians, it's been ever since he got "big". That would be when he came over to SF. The numbers he put up in Pittsburgh gave a good indication of his skill and future hall of fame status.

You know, I've changed my mind. I think Barry Bonds should be shot. He's my child's primary role model, and now my child thinks it's okay to cheat and hate people. I had no say in how my child was raised. It was all Barry. And I don't even have children. You can tell that he was doing steroids from the age of six. If you see class photos of him in the second grade, you can already see he had a huge head compared to the rest of his body. Totally juicing. Totally. Also, I have it on good authority that he framed OJ Simpson, he financed Al Qaeda, and he made the milk in my fridge go bad almost a week before the "best before" date. He also caused that snowstorm that crossed the country last week with one of his withering glares, the Guiness down at my local pub tastes worse because of him, and his farts? They smell like peat moss and skunk vomit. It's true. Actually, I don't believe shooting him is appropriate. I believe in torture.
