CFL Pick 'Em, Week Five: Close games all around make money for some and mud for others. The first-place tie is broken up in a big way, but say hello to the third-place logjam. Grab your cant hook and make your picks inside.

Hamilton comes up short in a defensive battle in Montreal, while Edmonton puts together a big fourth quarter to take down Ottawa at home. Things are a little closer out west: B.C. holds off a late 'Rider comeback, while Calgary completes the comeback with a one-point victory against Winnipeg.

Margin of Error3 to 58 to 142 to 41 to 1

jags' streak of picking winners come to a close, but he still gets points in every game to rack up a healthy six enough to pull away from the pack and pad a three-point lead.

With one-fifth of the season behind us, we finally have enough data to start constructing accurate narratives. Of course, I'll probably still make up most of this.

Calgary @ Ottawa (Friday, July 24)
Two teams headed in opposite directions: Calgary's won two in a row and looks comfortable atop the West, while Ottawa's lost two straight and is having a tough time looking cohesive. Big money is on Calgary, but those in search of excitement may want to take the underdog.

Toronto @ BC (Friday, July 24)
This one's a bit more even: two 2-1 teams who have maybe given up a few more points than they'd like, but have good results to show for it. Vancouver is a tough place for visiting teams, but if Toronto has good luck out west, it won't be the first time.

Winnipeg @ Edmonton (Saturday, July 25)
After a rough start, Edmonton has started to find its footing, while Winnipeg is probably lucky to be 2-2 that's not a great setup for anyone heading into Commonwealth Stadium. Edmonton gets the edge here until proven otherwise.

Hamilton @ Saskatchewan (Sunday, July 26)
Remember a couple years back, when Saskatchewan started the season 5-0? They're one good Zach Collaros start away from starting this year 0-5. Ouch.

Good luck!

I was a fumble away from keeping my winning streak alive (Hamilton fumbled on what should have been a winning TD drive), but that's ok, because I'm proving that less knowledge is, in fact, better when picking these/lol.

This CFL is insane, it's like every team is bi-polar.

Ottawa by 3 (guess I want excitement)

B.C. by 10. Toronto took Babcock so all teams in Toronto must lose. (even though Bashill will kick start the next great Red Wings dynasty, it's the principal of it)

Edmonton by 10 ( they can't lose to Winnipeg at home can they?)

Hamilton by 14 (The Roughriders are my all time favorite CFL team but it ain't happening this year.)

These are my picks and I stand by them, NO Costanza for me!!!!

@ jagsnumberone " I'm proving that less knowledge is, in fact, better when picking these"

Ain't that the truth, I barley watch the NBA and I tie for the win, I watch the NHL like my life depends on it and I just barely survive the Costanza.

Also, it looks like some of the scores don't add up. OK, mine doesn't appear to add up.

Sorry about that, rumple! That was a copy/paste error. You scored 6 points - the total of 13 is correct.

Thanks DJE. I knew I couldn't be doing that well overall but couldn't be bothered to go back and check previous results either. Thanks for running the contest. I expect to put in s strong bid for the Costanza when all is said and done.
