Miami Dolphins Change Their Logo: For the first time since the team was founded in 1966, the Miami Dolphins won't have a helmeted dolphin on their logo. A uniform change for next season includes a new more realistic logo. Snowflake could not reached for comment.

I have no ties to Miami and no emotional attachment to the team, but I actually like the change. I'm more disappointed that they're changing the facemask color to white.

It looks so bland and corporate. Like an airline or shipping company logo.

The Miami Dolphins should've kept their original logo and uniform forever (aside from minor tweaks). They've had one of the best looks in sports and it's perfectly suited to their hometown.

Where's Mr. B.? This is going to alter his lifestyle.

There are no eyes on the new fish. Somebody call Al Pflueger.

They've had one of the best looks in sports and it's perfectly suited to their hometown.

When they started wearing all whites with white shoes, it was at a time when So. Fla. was becoming inundated with retired gentlemen who favored matching white belts and footwear.

With them waistbands pulled up pretty durn high if possible.

I don't really care about the uniforms*, just try being a decent front office for once.

I really wish I could just give up and follow another team to get away from the fairweather fans and celebrity ownership, but it's been 31 years, this year, so I'm kind of stuck with them.

I might start casually seeing other teams though, on a season by season basis. Pick one that's in an interesting phase of life and just hang out with them for sixteen games. I'm thinking maybe the Chiefs this year, or the Browns.

That way I can watch two teams lose a week.

*Apart from that Lost-At-Sea-Orange they wear once a year. That thing has to go.

Look how much happier the Dolphin looks now that he got that damn helmet off.

Uh, no. Got to agree with Rock ... the corporate part is the dollars they'll earn from merchandise with the new logo. Fans have to be up with the times, but given the reaction in the comments section, I have a feeling the old logo will return in a few years ... then they can sell more new merchandise.

You're such a slut/hound.

This new logo is just meh. It's boring.

The Miami Dolphins New England Patriots should've kept their original logo and uniform forever (aside from minor tweaks). They've had one of the best looks in sports and it's perfectly suited to their hometown.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think new, streamlined logos suck.

My first thought was a Star-Kist logo that was rejected years ago.

I do like the old Patriots logo, but I'm glad they're not in that garish red anymore. When the Pats have their throwback uniform games during the season, I get fidgety. Reminds me of General Gage's men being put ashore.

It is sort of ironic that the Patriots would wear redcoats.

Logo on the page linked to is not the actual new logo. To see the actual new logo, go to the Dolphins website. It's better, and has eyes.

Geez - they could have made the same amount of money by keeping their old logo and attempting to field a decent team.

I guess this move is easier.

By that logic, the Jaguars should be wearing all white. It seems like the retirees all left south Florida for here.

Really? I spend the whole game wishing they wore them every week. Dunno about going back to the whites though.

Forgot to mention: the Buick, Olds, or DeVille should be white as well. (Honorable mention for champagne edition packages with the gold trim).
