There is a London bus on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated.

posted by beaverboard at 06:25 AM on February 10, 2010

Sure it's not a Sydney bus instead?

posted by owlhouse at 07:17 AM on February 10, 2010

I think the correct answer is: both.

London above and Sydney below.

With the contact-activated safety restraint system partially deployed on the London.

Obviously disgruntled Colts fan argues that the Saints played dirty by violating an "unwritten rule" about starting a half with an onside kick.

I have to say, I played for 15 years from flag to college ball and I've never heard of any such "unwritten rule".

Yep - them Saints are a naughty nasty bunch. Onside kickoffs in the Superbowl, tackling Quarterbacks in the Playoffs ... they are truly destroying the game.

or otherwise stated:

They brought it when it counted. Indy, Minnesota and the rest didn't. Learn from it, get over it, and prepare for next year.

There's an unwritten rule not to onside kick to start a half? I have a pretty fine grasp of the NFL's unwritten rulebook, as evidenced by my response to the last Vikings-Cowboys touchdown, but this one sounds farcical to me.

The writer, Steve Montana, is flaming out nicely in the comments: "I know the rule. And if you want to challenge my knowledge of NFL football versus yours, I'm afraid you'll lose, and I say that because you have the nerve think you know what I believe."

Did he and Mr. Shirley attend the same "Choose an outrageous position, write a column supporting the outrageous position with idiocy" university?

That is really cute. I'm guessing 12 year-old Colts fan.

I understand that many, many people...will think what Sean Payton did was bold and creative. I don't agree with that way of thinking. I have my point of view. That's the beauty of life in this world. People think differently and there is not just one way to see things, there is not just one perspective. I think what Sean Payton did was dirty. Most people don't. That's fine. You are entitled to think what you want. I am entitled to think what I want, and I dare anyone out there to take away my point of view.

Jesus, this guy wouldn't last five minutes on Sportsfilter before the natives surrounded him with torches and pitchforks.

When the Saints won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball to start the game, they made their choice. The other team gets to receive the ball to start the second half, but the Colts never received the ball. It was stolen from them on a cheap and dirty onside kick.

I think he just broke the internet.

One wonders how he feels about fumbled kickoffs that result in the other team recovering.

posted by yerfatma at 02:08 PM on February 10, 2010

Would he have had a problem if Hank Baskett had managed to corral the kickoff, giving the Colts great starting field position ?

Do you have video evidence to confirm that statement?

No, but I know what I know and I'll put my knowledge of the NFL up ahainst yours any day. You'll lose. Also unsurpassed-my knowledge of Super Mario Brothers, the first three Superman movies, and convenience store nachos. So there.

Beelzebub does not show up on video. It's like vampires and mirrors.

If he was trolling-for-page-hits, he's doing a good job. Sadly, it also leads to everyone mocking him for the rest of his life, so it's a dangerous game to play.
