Oh what a great yt link, goddam. I love the part where he's saying 'bailando en las calles!' or something. They're dancing in the streets over that game. Honduras estamos en el mundial!
Brought a smile to my face, such genuine enthusiasm.

That's a fantastic link, goddam.
I might have to adopt Honduras as my underdogs next year now. The World Cup should be about excitement like that.

Honduras estamos en el mundial
Enjoyed the audio. Honduras are in the World?

I was hoping Honduras would make it in. The fans we met at the viewing party last Saturday were class. One of the few away legs this qualifier where the US team was treated with respect.
Another video of Honduran fans celebrating in the streets.

Wilson Palacios of Tottenham Hotspur and the Honduran national team was forced to stay in Honduras to celebrate rather than return to England for Spurs' match this weekend. I'd link an article, but I've got class in six minutes and don't have the link handy. Somewhere on guardian.co.uk.

Cullen Bryant, who spent 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, was a running back on their 1980 Super Bowl team and fought the NFL's trading rules to remain in town, has died. He was 58.

Three NFL quarterbacks are killed in a plane crash.
God asks Peyton Manning first: "What do you believe?"
Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my fans."
God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning and offers him a seat to his left.
Then God turns to Aaron Rodgers and says, "What do you believe?"
Aaron says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing fields."
God is greatly moved by Aaron's sincere eloquence and offers him a seat to his right.
Finally, God turns to Brett Favre and says, "And you, Brett, what do you believe?"
Brett replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

rcade: yes that's basically right, estamos would be translated to 'is' in English in this case, but it has to be plural like that to match Honduras, the people, in the way the translator was referring, I think. My spanish is more than a bit rusty though. I gather el mundial is just short for el copa mundial, so yeah.

I have that supid hiny flu.
Please, please, please be referring to the H1N1 (swine) flu.

Yes the H1N1. It is being laughingly called the hiny flu (hini) among some medical communities, widely among nurses in hospitals that find themselves working their hinies off because of it.

Great post, goddam, the pure joy of the Hondurans is evident, even to a non-Spanish speaker. There has been some comment in the press that the qualification by Honduras might have a beneficial effect on the tense political situation in that country (several links to that accompany the You-Tube video). Let's hope so.
