Where the hell is everybody?: Giving up on the site? Eastern Orthodox? Booze 'n pills binge? Nazi orgies? Posting has been incredibly light this past week. We're not losing members are we? Maybe everybody is outside, enjoying the Spring weather, like I should be. Well, I am going to a Carolina Mudcats game this afternoon. The Montgomery Biscuits are in town. The Biscuits...what a great mascot. Hafta to get a t-shirt.

I think it's just a down stage. I've had several links I've wanted to post but just haven't done so.

Yeah, it's been a crazy couple of months, and I've missed youse guys. I'll get my Swap CDs mailed out this week, and will be back into the swing of things before you can say "Jerry Crawford's strike zone".

I'm in the middle of prepping my house for sale. My place is a disaster, and I have to climb over boxes and gallons of paint to get to my desk. Of course, you are all worth "the climb", I'm just lazy.

The past two days I was unable to get on SpoFi. I'm not sure if it was just me or if it happened to anybody else.

Been busy working two jobs, involved with friends, board of trustees and local politics, plus it's been nice out and baseball is back on. If it makes you feel any better, the dog is almost a month overdue on his annual vaccinations, my car was 3000 miles overdue for an oil change, I've given up on trying to schedule a haircut in favor of ponytails and headbands, and if it weren't for Mr. JG, I definitely would have forgot to mail my tax check to the great state of Massachusetts. It's not you, it's me, Sportsfilter.

I'm in the middle of prepping my house for sale. My place is a disaster, and I have to climb over boxes and gallons of paint to get to my desk. I went through that last year. If you haven't already gotten a storage container dropped off at your house, do it now. Get rid of all the stuff you won't use while trying to sell the house. The company drops off the container, picks it up when you call and they drop it off at the new place after you have moved. That thing was awesome. The last thing you need while trying to sell your house is useless junk cluttering up the house. The Mudcats game was great. The day was perfect. Five County Stadium is a nice little ballpark, though the big scoreboard wasn't working. I'm looking forward to my first Durham Bulls game of the season awfully soon.

I'm in the middle of selling my farm and buying down here in Sydney. Apart from that, we had a family night out at the fights on Saturday, and a Swans game broke out.

If you haven't already gotten a storage container dropped off at your house, do it now. Actually, we went a different route. We're moving 1700 miles, and we don't want to take a lot of our stuff, so we had a large dumpster delivered and threw a bunch of junk away. The rest is being stored at the in-laws. We might have used the "PODS" or another storage cube, but they don't service NW Montana. (At least not to where we are headed.)

we had a large dumpster delivered and threw a bunch of junk away. The one upside to moving. Makes me want to go rent a Dumpster.

posted by yerfatma at 06:55 PM on April 13, 2008

so we had a large dumpster delivered and threw a bunch of junk away I think Dumpsters are always the best answer for moving. Good job.

posted by NoMich at 06:57 PM on April 13, 2008

Speaking of dumpsters, I had a heck of a time trying to get on the site yesterday. That really doesn't have anything to do with dumpsters.

Makes me want to go rent a Dumpster. It wasn't that bad of a deal. We paid $350.00, and had it for a week. The other option is 1-800-GOT-JUNK. They charge $500.00 if you fill their truck. Which, by the way, seemed much smaller than the dumpster.

Except for a couple of days last week, I've been in the Nevada desert on test since the end of March. It's a slow dial-up connection here, and coupled with several 14-hour days, have kept me from posting (but not commenting). We finished up our program today, and we'll finish packing up tomorrow. I'll be back in glorious high-speed country by tomorrow night.

Well there's your problem right there, chico. You have a job. Be unemployed, like me, and you have all the time in the world to do whatever you want. And by the way, the "Eastern Orthodox" option in my original post was supposed to read, "Orthodox Easter." Maybe I should think about getting a new job. My mind is obviously starting to slip.

I tried that. Too weak to type. Spent all my time with my sidekick, Amos (played by Art Carney), hatching get-rich-quick schemes that never seemed to pan out. It was a great life, highly rewarding, and hanging out here 34258726349572 hours a day was lovely. But these Maseratis don't drive themselves, babe. Daddy needs to pay for his medicine.

lilnemo, I think Scrabble scores aren't the worst thing that could be posted, not by far. But then again, I didn't go to an American college, so all that stuff kind of passes through me. But Scrabble? Why the hell not. Darts? Spelling Bees? Competitive Eating? Arm wrestling? Rock Paper Scissors? Dwarf Tossing? Chess? Beer Pong? World of Warcraft? Foxy Boxing? Monkey Baseball? Survivor: Cleveland? Cheese Hockey? The Democratic Primary? Fingernail growing contests? Prison breaks? Spin the bottle? Exquisite Corpse? Flava of Love? I crossed a line in there somewhere. Sorry.

posted by chicobangs at 09:02 AM on April 15, 2008

posted by jerseygirl at 12:06 PM on April 15, 2008

Darts? - Sure. Spelling Bees? - Why not. Competitive Eating? - Ew. But we've said yes before. Arm wrestling? - Yup. Rock Paper Scissors? - A sport everyone can play equally well? Sure! Dwarf Tossing? - Only if it's sanctioned. Chess? - Definitely. Beer Pong? - Maybe not. World of Warcraft? - No. Foxy Boxing? - Hell, yes! Monkey Baseball? - Fuck, yes! Survivor: Cleveland? - Pass. Cheese Hockey? - Whu? The Democratic Primary? - We don't have enough intergender sports. Fingernail growing contests? - Hopefully without slow-mo replay video links. Prison breaks? - Which division? South American or South Asian? Spin the bottle? - Celebrity, or just kids? Cuz just kids would be kinda creepy. Exquisite Corpse? - Whu? Flava of Love? - Gah!

posted by grum@work at 12:21 PM on April 15, 2008

Pass? On Survivor: Cleveland? That would be awesome! The tribes would be camped out on Lake Eerie, in December. Just think on it.

And besides, I'm more of a philistine. *Took a little liberty with the quote to make you sound like one of the heathens.
