Seahawks by 7 Giants (I know - what?) by 4 Steelers by 3 Chargers by 11 YAC - Me, if I accidentally eat that crab dip again. For the love of god mayonnaise just should not comprise 90% of anything. But are we talking Yards after the Catch? Odd - but I'll take LT with 60.

I haven't found a good place to find YAC as opposed to just plain receiving yards, so the bonus will have to be receiving yards instead of YAC. Sorry.

OK, so the receiving yardage champion goes to Plaxico Burress with 125.

This is a little weird for me. As a fairly casual NFL fan, and therefore one that tends towards the major storylines of the year, it's difficult to remind myself that there are other games of significance besides those played by the Patriots. Seahawks by 10 Giants by 24 Steelers by 14 Titans by 3 Reccie Yardsley is the Plax-man with 112.

Receiving yards.

If it's YAC, I'm sticking with my pick. If it's total receiving yards, I'm going with Burress, 112 yards.

Holmes 117

If it's receiving, I'll takle Burress for 108 yards. If it's YAC as Apoch said, I'll still takle LT with 65.

So, did anyone figure what the margins of error for the spreads were? Not that I think I came close enough on any game, but...

If my methodology is correct -- been a while since I've attempted real math (note: these are rounded) Jax - 1-3 SD - 8-14 NYG - 7-13 SEA - 15-27
posted by Ufez Jones at 09:31 AM on January 07, 2008
Ufez: by your math, I get two more points, so I declare your math to be good. Looks like the winner on receiving yards was Hines Ward with 135, who was chosen by...nobody? Is that right? Damn, I almost took him, too.
posted by lil_brown_bat at 09:58 AM on January 07, 2008
I have the margins and everything at home. I'll post the update tonight. Ufez's numbers are either right or very close from what little I can remember. Nobody took Ward, which I thought was a little surprising. Lot of points awarded for Yardage.
posted by apoch at 11:02 AM on January 07, 2008
Oh yeah, forgot about yardage. I'm getting a range of 95-176 yards on that one, which, yeah, should include most everyone.
posted by Ufez Jones at 01:52 PM on January 07, 2008
But nobody picked Ward. No points if you didn't pick Ward!
posted by lil_brown_bat at 01:55 PM on January 07, 2008
I'm glad you pointed that out. I'll have to fix that before I post the table, and nobody predicted 135 so no points at all on the bonus.

I got all 4 games, nailed NYG spread right on the button. Just missed Jags game by 1. When do I get a trophy for Most Homeruns in all of MLB?
posted by BoKnows at 08:18 PM on January 07, 2008
Here's how she works. You pick who you think will win, and by how much. You then get points based on the result: * picked the winner? You get 1 point. * picked the winner, and a spread within the Margin of Error? You get 2 points. * picked the winner, and you nailed the spread right on? You get 3 points. * didn't pick the winner, but nailed the spread right on? You get 1 point. What's the Margin of Error? It's a window around the spread that's defined as: spread - round(0.3 * spread) < margin of error=spread + round(0.3 * spread) This Weeks games: NFC: Redskins at Seahawks Sat 4:30 pm EST Giants at Bucs Sun 1:00 pm EST AFC: Jaguars at Steelers Sat 8:00 pm EST Titans at Chargers Sun 4:30 pm EST. Bonus question: Which player will have the most YAC and what will it be? Scoring same as game.
