I just hope Rick Carlisle can coach this kind of team. He is a solid coach, but he has his own system that doesn't seem like it will mesh well with the type of team that LB is putting together.

Gotta love the fact that he's a former Bradley Brave!

I watched that game on WGN and and it will always stay with me. What a great moment! I can also date myself by telling a joke that was around at the time. If Tuesday Weld (an actress from the 60's and 70's) married Rick Monday she'd be Tuesday Monday. Thank you and goodnight. And THANK YOU Rick Monday...

Does any of this surprise anyone?

I was at the race. What a finish! I would have liked to see Andretti-Green in the winners circle, but Hornish is a class act. Nice job by all.

Fred was a smart player and can probably stick around the game in either coaching or broadcasting if he doesn't want to be tied to the front office job. Good luck to him whatever he chooses.

Bottom line is that the Babe will always be considered an icon and Barry will always be....something different to everybody. It's a shame because Barry was a great player without the "flax seed oil" and was fun to watch even if he was a jerk.

vanderjagt has been cut loose by the Colt's. Last I read he was auditioning in Green Bay.

As a Colt's fan I am thrilled. It's been a tough free agent period for Indy and this will be a great moral boost. Now if we could just get Edge back!

If he would have shot Monica in the head Bill wouldn't have a dick left.

Is Mac deserving?
Glad to see that my first ever post to SF at least got a little response! Now for my opinion: Mac did bring people back to the game. He was and is, by all accounts, a nice guy. He did hit a tremendous amount of dingers. He DOESN'T belong in the Hall. The HOF should be a place to revel in the achievements of the games greatest players and I would not put Big Mac in that category. Good player, fun to watch, possibly a law-breaker (not unlike a lot of our sports heroes) but I just can't consider him great. I can't stand Barry, but he is a great player. I don't really want to see him in the Hall but he should end up there.
