Global Village Basketball: June 10, 2009: In 2002 I posted the beginnings of an idea to link together a bunch of pickup basketball games through the internet into one meta-game as my first (and only) column to SportsFilter. Though it looks much different today from that original concept, the event -- Global Village Basketball -- is finally here and it will be held for 24 hours this Wednesday, June 10.
Ask SpoFi: Pitcher-Catcher Signal Systems in Baseball: Had a few questions that my Google search didn't quite satisfy, and then realized I was asking in the wrong place....the collected baseball wits of SpoFi would know!

Ask SpoFi: To all the baseball stats geeks, I am wondering if it is possible with sabermetric analysis to "prove" which home run record was of higher "quality", Barry Bonds' 756 or Sadaharu Oh's 868? How would you go about it?

Is it possible to have a Sports Business category on SpoFi? I presume that many fans don't want their sport-specific categories filled with business items (though you can't always separate the two nowadays), and I don't think the intent of Culture is to host these stories either. I assume that one day you'll be able to choose the categories you want to see only, and I wouldn't want to read about Baseball, but I would be interested in reading articles about the business of baseball.
