Gary had the answer already! She's too short to punch the button for floor 10. She can only reach up to the button for 7. But if someone else is in the elevator, she can ask them to punch 10 for her. Of course in the morning it doesn't matter, as the button for ground is the lowest one. Now then. How many roads must a man walk down, before you can call him a man?

Ya'll some whiny ass titty babies for threatening to quit a damn website because someone posted a thread about your team losing....but it's not that they posted it in the first place, it's that they didn't use neutral language and/or didn't link to a good enough article about your team losing. Whatever. You were pissed that the Yankees lost, you were upset about it, and in the heat of the moment you let your frustrations out. And now you're trying to act all holier than thou, "wahh, rcade violated SpoFi standards" BS to try to cover your tracks because you are embarrassed that you did such a human thing but don't want to admit it.

My girlfriend got me a signed copy of Four Corners for my birthday one year. I haven't read Featherston's book yet. I'll get to it at some point, and probably finish it off in two evenings. I'm not sure it covers any new territory on the topic, but Featherston's writing is excellent. Oh man - things are kinda messed up at the top of my two favorite athletic departments (Duke and Arkansas). Someone has parked firejoealleva.com for now, but yeah - I'm done with him. Not that I have any influence on it, but letting G go was the last straw. The football debacle would be grounds enough at most schools, the lax situation on top of that should have done it, and the G saga...I guess you only need one person in your corner if that person carries a big enough stick.

NoMich, your Carolina fan family will probably like To Hate... better than tieguy and I did. They'll be able to weather the dull parts better because the author is writing from their perspective on the rivalry. Personally, this is the only book that I have ever thrown across the room. And yes, Last Amateurs suffers in comparison to March to Madness and Season on the Brink in that the athletes and coaches and fans just aren't as notable. Everyone can picture a Bob Knight tirade....but can you picture the coach from Lehigh? I still read it and every other basketball book Feinstein has written (The Punch) though.

The Japanese uniforms and jackets have a certain SyntheticFabricsWillSaveThePlanet early 80's quality about them. And those dirt infields make it look like a beer league softball field. I love that the umps are willing to mix it up, and the Americans have their first name on the jerseys

So I watched the Ovechkin-Briere video. Has anyone in the NHL ever gone absolutely nuts and wielded a hockey stick as a weapon? I'm not talking about high sticking or anything within the normal course of play. I'm talking about a situation (for instance) where Gaustad sees Briere go down and then decides he's going to go Braveheart on Ovechkin. Surely there's some sort of unwritten rules of hockey where this is forbidden. But I have to think that at some point, one of the testosterone laden players has lost his mind in the heat of competition and done this.

Good analysis, guys. Going further...isn't the bald eagle actually a scavenger? Sure, we've seen them pick fish out of the water, but I'm not sure they're built for head to head combat. And falcons only pick off small mammals. This one could be ugly; something like 7-3. Take the under.

Picking by mascot usually works pretty well. For example, Revolutionary War soldiers rode on horses, so the Patriots would beat the Colts. This week is pretty tough: Patriots v. Steelers and Eagles v. Falcons. No clear cut winners there. The Patriots are far more experienced, but the Steelers technological edge is probably too much to overcome. Single shot muskets just can't stand up to an armored tank. In the Avian Championship game, I'm thinking that eagles have a size advantage over falcons. Eagles will win, but the Falcons will cover.

Thank you..... I was chasing jbou until the last three weeks or so. Smooth Sam Perkins was running away with it early before he went on strike or whatever. An 82 game limit per position would make a good deal of sense, but since we were playing unlimited, I tried to squeeze out every last point. I even planned ahead for when I knew I'd be out of town. Nice league, we'll do it again next year!

MetaFilter User Proposes New Site Called 'Sportsfilter'
I've been gone for a long time after being a daily visitor. I spend a lot less time on the web in general, and a lot of my sports surfing time is spent on various team and sport subreddits. I can't really say why, just that habits slowly change over time. There are many sites I used to visit daily that I haven't seen in years.
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and I'll try to poke my head in more often.
