His recent comments page is even more enlightening. Were there deleted comments he was arguing with or is he, y'know, nuts?

When it comes to people who use "your" instead of "you're" I'm with Arnaud-Amaury. I think he was "arguing" with a user (TommyTrump?), who quoted one of his gems, yfm. I expect the Sissys will be working on fulfilling his request shortly.

I can't decide if sissys is supposed to be some kind of pun off sys admin, or a misspelling. I'm betting on the latter, especially after reading the comments page. He only joined yesterday. Short shell life.

Listen, mister, if you don't get me on board that goddamn submarine, I might just have a war for you! You got me? Now you have ten more minutes' worth of fuel, we stay here ten more minutes! Next time, Jack, write a goddamn memo.

Is the why-can-black-people-say-it-but-white-people-can't debate nearing the not-a-sport debate as a banned topic? Still missing a parenthesis on the locker room home page.

We call it "Crazy Ivan." The only thing you can do is go dead. Shut everything down and make like a hole in the water.

Some things in here don't react well to bullets. Yerfatma, if you are ever so inclined, I'd love to see a Red Dawn-esque Saturday afternoon drink-a-long to THFRO. Now that's a sport.

I don't know if he's even worth the guidelines spiel. He's not. He made some racist remark and then spent the rest of the night creating new accounts to make the same point over and over. That type thread brings those type people out of the dark.

Whatever his comment was, it got yanked between when jg started this thread and when I got to it. The delete-your-stupid-comment-hammer is swift and sure.

I mean, we're approaching the holiday season, and in that vein maybe we should just give the lad what he wants. I agree with jerseygirl, especially when it nears Super Bowl time. Going through another month of GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!! in every comment is not a thrilling thought.

He made some racist remark and then spent the rest of the night creating new accounts to make the same point over and over. Did you end up banning the IP?

The delete-your-stupid-comment-hammer is swift and sure. It's a no brainer to watch any thread that has to do with race closely. Plus, didn't get a single trick or treater. Did you end up banning the IP? I don't think it's an IP ban, though I'm not sure. And I was lazy and didn't check if it was the same IP. I just went by the similar comments one after another from accounts created one after another and his mocking "ban me all night".

Yerfatma, if you are ever so inclined It's really more a question of Mrs. yerfatma being so inclined. To leave me home alone for a weekend. Plus it feels a bit outside the bounds of the locker room.

While we're (sort of) on the subject, I'd just like to thank everyone for staying with that racism thread and keeping it meaningful and productive. Seriously, for such a seemingly played-out argument, there's some good discussion there. Some crap discussion too, but there's good stuff all the way through.

outside the bounds of the locker room If towel whips are ok, I think a few off-color jokes and a hilarious rant or two are ok in my books. But I don't have much of a library.

jerseygirl writ thus: I wouldn't worry about the STEELERS!!!! being in the SuperBowl again. Indeed, my guess is that GO STEELERS!!!1!1!! will get real quiet about 4 pm on December 31st. Also, I second what garfield said re: yerfatma favoring us with a Red Dawn-style reprise. OTOH, I was fool enough to sign up for NaNoWriMo and I really don't need any more excuses to procrastinate.

That Red Dawn rant was classic. I liked our little racism debate. There really isn't a hell of a lot of polite dialogue (or dialogue in general) these days, and I like seeing it occassionally. Brings back an inkling of my rapidly deteriorating faith in our continent.

You damn gorilla. That'll cost you one key board, and you may no longer visit the internet for the rest of basketball season! I hope you have learned your lesson mister. Oh wait, I don't think weedy is a minority that can be compared to a primate in a negative way, after his ancestors were enslaved hundreds of years ago and referred to the same way. So, forget it the keyboard and net thingy, we'll just act like it never came up. j/k

The eels are so hit or miss for me. I love that album (how can you not love something done by the Unabomber, unless it blows up in your face?), but the albums around it I'm (at best) ambivalent about. But the first couple of albums I love.

Sidebar: I had no where to mention this, so this seems as good a spot as any... Since we put in the minimum-comments-before-FPP rule, the front page has been relatively free of deleted threads. That was a great idea, so thanks.
