I feel kinda bad for Chris Anderson. We all know he can do better than that; he showed it to us last year.

The announcers (and the pitcher) paid a lot of attention to Beltran's stealing, there was a lot of speculation about walking the guy in front of Jeff Kent because Kent hits into a lot of double plays, and he ends the game with a home run on the first pitch. As a not-serious baseball watcher, I thought the announcers did a very good job there explaining Beltran's stealing (I had no idea he was good at that... I mean hey I thought he just hit HRs), and also the walk on Jeff Kent. I thought it was hilarious how they said Jeff Kent has a lot of pride and was probably personally offended by the walk right before Kent bombed it.

Well in this year's case it would be the Pistons minus Darko and Okur... Which would still dominate the competition.

He fouled out on a moving screen offensive foul with a decent amount of time left. Gotta say, Argentina whipped us. Their whole team could drill 3s and there was nothing the US could do about it.

Ok, it's one thing for him to want to get out before football wears on him. It's another to do this right now, just days before camp, with Eddie George, Antowain Smith, Garrisson Hearst all off the market. If he's been thinking about this, he should have warned the Dolphins a long time ago so they could have done something about it. Now they're pretty much screwed.

Detroit pretty much choked completely after Kobe was able to tie it. I'm not gonna fault Rip's D on that shot... he was avoiding the foul, and from where Kobe was shooting, it would have been stupid to risk it. Kobe made a crazy shot, and that's what it comes down to. After that the Pistons lost all their fire. And yes, they should definitely have fouled Shaq. Can't believe the Lakers even let him touch it.

I thought that was one of the best games so far these playoffs. It's rare to see such exciting defense. Tayshaun's block was just insane... I had a feeling he would get it; it was very much like the block he got on a Richard Jefferson breakaway dunk a while ago (which got called a foul even though it was clean on replay).

I was in a car accident with Donyell Marshall. Well, actually, I hit his car with mine. I was 16, fresh license, and was picking my mom up from the San Francisco airport (although this was right after he went to Utah). As I looked for parking, a car a little behind me turned on, so I eagerly backed up, without realizing Donyell Marshall's HUGE SUV was right on my ass. Hit him going like 1 mph, which was enough to wreck my trunk while barely scratching his license plate frame. When he stepped out of that driver's seat, I knew absolute fear... a big ass 6'10" dude whose car I just hit coming up to me. I didn't want to piss him off by saying that I knew who he was so I just got his number down and that was that. He never called back about the damage... I don't think there really was any. Funny thing is, I'd actually gotten his autograph before at a steakhouse probably 6-8 years earlier, along with a few other scrubby Warriors. And those are my only encounters... 2 with Donyell Marshall.

Marvin Lewis is definitely up there, but my current Coach of the Year pick has to be Bill Belicheck. I'm a 49ers fan currently living in Boston, so I've been seeing a lot of Patriots games this year... Incredible what he's done, especially considering the injury bug that's hit that team this year. But back on topic... I'm gonna go with the Boast. What with Jamal Lewis' prediction of his rushing record, it seems that all guarantees are flying this season.

I've personally always sympathized for Dillon. It's horrible to watch a talented player stuck on a perpetually bottom-feeding team. It amazes me that Dillon has put up the numbers he has throughout his career... on the Bengals. He is indeed rich though. I don't think that's the issue for him. He wants to play - shouldn't we praise an athlete for that outlook?

ttrendel, I'm not saying the call was a bad one... Like kirkaracha said, it seems they called it perfectly, but the rule is just stupid. Granted, the Bucs blew it on their own, there's no question about that... but the weird call at the end provides a convenient way to take away some of the Colts' well-deserved merit.

The real topic of discussion here... the leaping call at the end. What the hell was that? And what's with these weird BS rules that pop up once in a while (*coughpatriots/raiderscough*)? Sure, I'm a bit bitter because I lost my fantasy game by one point (I needed 4 more receiving yards from Harrison, or a FG by Gramatica), but isn't the incredible comeback a little tainted by the ending being decided on a ridiculous flag?

IMO, the Falcons logo wasn't in need of much updating. It looked more modern and edgy than a lot of other NFL team logos. New logo looks pretty cool though. I'm sure it will propel some Vick jersey sales. NoMich, that's a talon I believe, not a second head. :) As a Niners fan, I'm happy we have a classic logo, but I do have to admit that it doesn't really look "cool" like some other logos - ie, I don't really have any Niners clothing. I guess some kind of update would be nice, but then again it's pretty tough to make a good logo for a number.

Just to clear up the triple double explanation, it just means reaching double digits in any 3 stat categories, so it could be any combination of points, assists, rebounds, blocks, steals. Triple doubles are relatively rare, double doubles are pretty common (most often with points/rebounds).

Good for both teams all around. Even playing NFL2k3 on my PS2 can tell me Vick needs a real receiver, and Price is at least good enough. From what I saw of Josh Reed last season, I think he should step in nicely. Probably a good fantasy pick in the later rounds. TO is still the best of course... :)
