true dat. and even if he went to a contender, I suspect he would be relagated as a middle relieer becasue his stuff isn't "flashy" no 100 mph fastballs to impress folks. Which is too bad. we have all seen pitchers with supersonic arms that can't hit a salad plate much less the inside plate

I was watching the All Star Game and Saw Trevor Hoffman come in. No he isn't Rivera, but he has more saves then Riveral and NO ONE will ever mistake his stuff as overpowering. Rivera has one devistatingly good pitch, Trevor has...nothing... yet he seems to get it done. If Rivera is a no brainer to go in, Hoffman should be because he has done more with a LOT less

It does seem intresting that the only ones caught with roids were marginal players byt the ones widley ASSUMED to be using are big name players. I tend to agree that no amount of muscle can overcome a perfectly thrown 0-2 splitter all the time.

The story gets me thinking about folks that are twice his age that have not one, but SEVERAL DUI's and just keep doing it. And if you talk to them, they genuinely don't "get it". I hope JJ has the point driven home to him the first time so that the first time is the ONLY time.

My favorite moment was when the reporter walked up to the kid and asked him what was the hardest part. The look on the reporter's face when he answered was great! If theat wasn't a "well Duh" kind of answer I don't know what is. Kudos to the kid.

I recall that MVP stands for MOST VALUABLE PLAYER not the BEST player. Once the Clippers figured out to posse up on Nash like he was a Lebron or Kobe, we found out that as far as talent goes, I admitt, he is REAL average but his effect on the team is undeniable when folks treat him like an average player Nash shines .No Nash, Suns don't get out of the first round of the playoff even with Amarie healty. That's why Nash got it last year and why he deserved it this year. I would have had no problem with Lebron getting it either, but seriously, who elase deserved it? If Chauncy were out, the Pistons still would probably be where they are without missing a beat. Kobe? I personally don't think the voters are completely comfortable with him, even though he has managed to stay reasonably out of trouble and was HUGE for the Lakers. The Suns got to the confrence finals last year with their style so it is viable. The question is can it win a championship?

I am mor amazed by the fact that the Suns can hang in a game where they shoot like crap. I had heard that they couldn't won close games. a Suns Mavs confrence finals would be intresting to watch.

"Americans boo the Canadian national anthem out of stupidity and jealousy (because it's time to admit it, folks -- The Star-Spangled Banner sucks)" I don't know about the jealousy part but I have never been a fan of the Anthem.. IN fact, How many have actually heard ALL of the "Star Spangled Banner" OMG it's LOOOOOONG.. BTW what is "spangled" anyways? Who even uses that phrase?

How does being a player's manager equate to "poor strategy"? Bobby cox is cinsidered a "genius" but for all of their times in the playoff (15 years I think) they have been to the WS ,what TWICE? and won ONCE. Ozzie gets to the WS in less than 3 years, wins it on the first shot.. and people as asking for sugar for their Hater-Aid.

the fact that he even lasted this long is impressive. how long did Minute Bol last? while it is true that a 7 foot center will usuall find a gig somewhere, I would love to see how many 7 footers on college made it to the nba.

I didn't see the end of the game with Gonzaga where Morrison was "crying" but I wonder if that had an effect on the voting. SOmetimes you can tell more about a person by how they handle losing than how they handle winning.

What I don't get is even if he and the others accused of using steroids, did do so and they were NOT banned during that time, why should they be punished for something that was not "cheating" under the rules? If folks Ken Jr. had managed to stay healthy and he had been the one breaking the single season HR record or chasing after Hank's all time HR record, would the crritics be as butt hurt as they seem to be now? Its like we are saying "hey you cheated! but it was legal, but we didn't: and so you should be punished for having done something that was legal because we don't like it"

I always liked that when he scheduled nonconfrence games it was with good teams instead of loading the schedule with easy teams. I doubt the next coach will do that.

Now is Alex Smith overrated because he's not that good, or because he is part of a team that has NO offensive protection whatsoever? Name a quarterback that had a career year when they had no o-line? I imagine it's possible but I would not bet my money on it.

What worries me is that of all the kids that come from schools like these, How many actually GET to the NBA and how many of those actually DO WELL? I like college basketball more than football because the game seems more fair There are fewer "gimme games" set up by the coaches to get easy wins and pad their stats. It seems every year there is at lest 2 or 3 tams that go undefeated in football but in basketball you may get one team every couple of years. i mention this because these kids get fooled into thinking once they get in a good college school they have a good shot at the pros only to find out that even the WORST b-ball pro was extremely good in college. My favorite example of a good college player not making it in the pros is the no 1 draft pic in 84 (I believe) the same year MJ came out. and where is he now? anyone know how his career went?

Can somebody fill me in on what this cap is supposed to do anyays? Does a team get fined if they are over? Anytime I have heard it mentioned it is usually a polite excuse to get reid of a player they don't want ot pay what the player is asking or used as an "out" for a player that was a dud.

Wasn't there an interview sometime early in the season or just before where Farve said "I'm not here to teach him anything" referring to a question about if he was mentoring Rogers. I don't remember the exact language but I do remember him giving the impression he was not intrested in training a successor.

Where exactly in Russia did you go to school? Oh, and they should have taught you we have never had a President Regan I do have an answer for that but I won't go there. Second Are you REGAN"S bitch that you would get that butthurt over a a missing letter. finally I went to a catholic high school in chicago. and at the time (and even today) I could count the number of black folks that liked Regan on ONE finger.

Is it me? Or does it seem like our last two presidents are a lot like AOL. You either love them or think they are evil incarnate. Something to think about. I was 13 when Regan was shot. they announced it on the incercom at school and the whole class CHEERED! These were 13 year-old kids. Now where would they have gottan this from? How would a kid know to cheer for a person they did not know to be hurt? I am no fan of JUnior's or Darth VP but I don't wish them hurt. Employed elswhere, yeah, but not hurt

As much as I like MMF, It seems like it is going downhill as a television series. Does ESPN think there are more people that have cable than those that don't? I ask because while those that watch ESPN will be all over MMF, I am sure that is still fewer than would watch if it remained on free tv. Maybe it is "downsixing" in that it is looking to get a cmaller audience but a more consistend one. My name ain't Neilson, but somehow I don't see this working as well as they hope.

What I want to know is why this stuff happens in the first place? I have yet to hear about KKK signs at a football game, say at U of A. Or, even, of widespread brawuling at a Yankees/ Red Sox game. For all of the times our euro friends scratch their heads at some of the things that go one here, they have just as many "WTF?" moments.
