Duke Super Bowl: In-depth analysis of tomorrow's clash of 1-9 college football titans. Mostly sophomoric, but humor us Duke fans on our one chance for football glory...
I'll take Duke in this match up. The Cameron Crazies will be the difference.

Oh man. I'll be in a cabin in the woods all weekend. Usually I schedule around a much-awaited, epic clash of the titans like this one. NBC is actually televising it, right?

NBC is indeed televising it. I believe this will be my first chance to see Duke football in glorious HD, in fact.

Great link tieguy. I found it quite hilarious. However, if I am to watch the game it will be with the sound on mute. I cannot stand listening to NBC's announcers during Notre Dame games.

Someone from deadspin points out that this may, in fact, be the worst nationally televised football game ever.

I'm glad it doesn't clash with the Michigan - Ohio State game (much). Hate to miss a rivalry game like that . . .

Someone in the Duke section needs a sign reading: Notre Dame makes us wish we could Break this damn Contract.

Awesome sign etagloh! I live only 35 minutes from ND Stadium and puke in my cereal every time I am forced to watch the South Bend news talk about the "Fighting" Irish. This game will definately be a highlight real for the placekickers, because of obvious lack of defense by either team. Hopefully the Dukies can go in there and waltz out with their second win of the season. Notre Dame cannot seem to figure out the big picture: We do not have a chance of national recognition until we JOIN A CONFERENCE. Notre Dame Football, Returning To Glory Since 1993...

I think Notre Dame has plenty of national recognition already.

We do not have a chance of national recognition until we JOIN A CONFERENCE. But then the Irish would have to share bowl revenues. Think about how much their payout would have been diluted for their totally undeserved BCS appearance last year. They would also have to play a real schedule, on a home and home basis. Wins against cupcakes like the service academies and Stanford would likely be replaced by losses by visiting places like Camp Randall, Columbus, and Champaign on a regular basis. Nope, Notre Dame will never join a conference. The Irish will try to rebuild and live on the program's tradition to keep television and bowl revenues all to themselves.

They would also have to play a real schedule ND may suck this year, but I wouldn't exactly call their yearly schedule easy. It looks down this year, but last year they played two teams who were #3 at the time and the year before, they played the 1, 3, and 4 at different times in the season when they played in both Columbus and the Big House.

Sagarin has ND's schedule strength as #3 this year. Surprised me, honestly.

We do not have a chance of national recognition until we JOIN A CONFERENCE. Yeah, just think how cool it would be if Notre Dame got some national recognition, maybe popped up on TV once in a while? That would be frickin' sweet!

I don't disagree with your point, but to clarify, the Domers haven't visited Columbus since 1995.

Very, very funny. It's funny, as much as I don't care for Duke on the hardwood, I really have no animosity towards the Blue Devils in any other sport. (Familiarity and success breed contempt, I suppose.) For Notre Dame, it's the same -- I dislike the football team but have no issue with the other teams. So go Duke, I guess!
