un, deux, trois, quatre: Lupul becomes the first player in NHL playoff history to cap a four-goal game with an overtime score. Rookie goalie sensation Bryzgalov also made history by posting the second longest shutout streak in NHL playoff history at 249 minutes and 15 seconds.
It's now official - Ducks are going to make the finals. When Lupul scores four and the Ducks go up 3-0, then this is the team that is touched by God. They can do no wrong. Boring left-wing lock trap team. I hate 'em. The San Jose vs. Ducks series (provided San Jose makes it) will make the new rules look cosmetic. My only hope is the (gasp) Sens ramping it up and showing that offensive hockey can still be played. Otherwise, it's like the lockout made for a better regular season and the same boring shitty trap success in the post season. Fuck.

I really liked the play of the Hinote-Dowd-Brunette line last night they were by far the best players not named Joffrey Lupul. I also can't remeber the last time I saw Rob Blake get caught pinching like he did right before Lupul's third goal.

it certainly looks like anaheim has their ducks in a row!

the best headline I've seen so far today is "Anaheim exploits Lupul to bury Avalanche"

The San Jose vs. Ducks series ... will make the new rules look cosmetic And will be just about the worst case possible for CBC's TV audience. I'm guessing.

It's weird. The east has all the high-scoring all-offense teams. The west is trap-happy. This all seems backwards to me.

It's not a trap, fabulon. It's a "press." I just think it's funny that the new "rules" are set up to have more wide-open style play, but it all goes out the window during the playoffs. If I wanted to see clutching and grabbing, I'd break out my porn stash...

It's not a trap, fabulon. It's a "press." Yeah, I wonder who sent out that memo. "Don't worry, Mr. McGuire. It's also a short word. You should be able to handle it."

Err, nbc won't be happy with any of the teams left. No major markets in play (seems like the NJ Devils can't even fill their building, their TV appeal is similarly limited). There was an article (subscriber only, cough) about this in the Globe and Mail today.

We Canadians are interested in things happening outside our country. We Americans don't have time to pay attention to things outside our country. We're too busy praying and polishing our guns.

Bryzgalov has played perfectly in the last few games against the Avs

We Canadians are interested in things happening outside our country. Not a helluva lot happens in our country. And you Americans are much more amusing and interesting... at arm's length.

Penner looked like a play-making Rick Nash; Great size, strength and vision from along the boards.
