How about a little bit of downhill skating combined with snowboard cross and bodychecking?: A sport that Dr Frankenstein would enjoy watching with the Hanson brothers - Crashed Ice. It is in Quebec City's old town this weekend.
I recognized the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) Bulldogs mascot in there too. It looks like he got his ass kicked by that Maroon Loon, though, or whatever the other mascot is called. I didn't hear about it when it was held here in Minnesota in 2004.

This is the greatest sport in all the sports sponsored by over-caffeinated drinks.

this is the craziest thing i've seen in a while. with all the adrealine junkies in the US ,why are they missing from the line up. i've got a feeling this would be huge here.

Pregame conditioning: lots and lots of Red Bull and cheap-ass vodka.

Reminds me of that old nintendo game "skate or Die". I'll be looking for the skater with wings. What where those round looking dial things on that TV??

Chinese downhill anyone? (And they said "Hot Dog" was a bad movie. Mmmm... mid 80s Shannon Tweed...)

I am waiting for the announcement that NBC has signed a six year, billion dollar deal to cover this.

Now if only the WWF (did they change their name?) could get their guys to skate. Would give all new meaning to "Superfly Snuka." And fathom, if you dare, Andre the Giant in an event like this. Oh, happy Thursday.

This event definately needs more attention. That's the coolest thing on skates I've seen since before the NHL lockout.

I read an article in the National Post about this today, but I'll be darned if I can find it on their website. Previously in Prague, coming next winter to Boston, the man to beat, action from previous installments.
