Extreme weather bother Hurricanes: Interesting about the Miami Hurricanes practicing in the extreme heat of south Florida. Its amazing the things that they do to "beat the heat"
"daddi", why are you apologizing? I found it a good read.

Backup QB lost 13 pounds in one practice session? That's crazy. Reminds me of some of the reports about NHL goalies dropping double digit pounds during mulitple OT games in the playoffs.

Made me remember the good ol' days, growing up in Pensacola, then going off to Gainesville; two-a-days during the summer, and you just thought you were going to die. And this was years ago when there were coaches convinced that giving us salt pills was going to help. Anybody else remember that peculiar remedy?

Reminds me of putting on 20 pounds in the offseason for lacrosse and losing it all in the first two games of the season during an abnormally warm spring.

Salt pills and no water. You could only have ice chips. Once a practice if it was 100 degrees or so you might get a hose sprayed on you for a minute or two. This is in southern Kansas. We'd practice at 7:00 a.m and then again at 6:00 at night. It was almost alwyas 90+ in the second practice and sometimes over 100.

Got to love those humid summer days in the south.

Wow, you really got to give them credit, I would really hate to practice in those conditions. I can barely walk around in this weather, let alone practice a sport. And I am in shape!
