Ken Griffey is looking forward to 2004. Grant Hill suffered a setback. Break a leg, guys!

Talk about bad luck. I am rooting for him, but only if he stays away from the Braves and Yankees.

Hm I don't know if Steinbrenner would go after Griffey. Injury prone, plus they already have 1.5 CFs in Lofton and Williams (respectively). This message brought to you by the same people who brought you "The Yankees Have Jeter, Why Would They Want ARod".

jersey, what did you think of the misplay by Jeter to first?

not sure george would be interested in junior after he expressed his disdain for the boss for not letting him hang out in the dugout when his daddy was a yankee.

First I said "ha-ha" like Nelson from the Simpsons. Then I said, "Jeter is going to be eaten alive by the press and the fans in NY if he keeps doing that this season". Did you see the game? Pretty circus-like atmosphere for a Spring Training game. Eeesh.

me too. (laughed like Nelson)

I'm sure it's far from the only place they do it, but during the Mavericks home games, whenever a player on the opposing team does something really dumb (blows a layup, travels, head-butts Josh Howard) they play the Nelson Ha-ha! really loud over the PA. No matter how many times I hear it, I still crack up.

Nothing beat the PA announcer for Orlando singing "TRAVVVV-ELLLL-INGGGGGG!!!" in a very Nathan Lane-ish voice at the top of his lungs whenever someone on the opposing team walked. It sounded a bit like "RIIIII-COOOOOO-LAHHHHHHH!" and never failed to get me rolling on the couch. I'm not sure that guy is still there (this was several years ago), but comedy gold.

Prediction: Jeter slumps in 2004, and they (NY media, Joe Morgan, etc.) blame it on ARod because his presence has caused "ill will in the dugout". What they will fail to notice is that Jeter's stats have plummeted 50% in total since 1999 and that he's quickly fallen out of the top 3 in SS (Tejada is now the #3).

technically, since ARod is now a 3B (logistics, logistics, i know) ... Nomar's 1, Tejada's 2, Jeter's 3. By god, we've totally derailed this thread.

what did you think of the misplay by Jeter to first? What's this? Someone made an error in a spring training game? Say it ain't so!
