SportsFilter: The Friday Huddle:
A place to discuss the sports stories that aren't making news, share links that aren't quite front-page material, and diagram plays on your hand. Remember to count to five Mississippi before commenting in anger.
That is an excellent question. Hadn't thought of that.
People who are self-quarantining like Chas. Barkley may be going a bit stir crazy. Maybe we can invite them to come on in and filter their sports with us. We'd be doing most of the listening, but I'd be up for that.

BarkleyFilter would certainly be more entertaining than many other filters

NASCAR is apparently going forward, albeit without the fans.

Reading all the tweets about how hard it to end a season early, cutting seasons short, no champions, ending careers early, etc.
It reminds me of the end of the 1994 MLB season when, as a joke, I declared the Seattle Mariners champions because they won the last game of the 1994 season.
This lead my thoughts to the Steroid Era of baseball and the league looking the other way to bring back fans and wondering if we may look back in 10 years at 2020 and say something similar.
Just a thought

Shower Thought #2
Is the NBA Salary Cap tied to NBA revenue? If this goes on for a while, could next year's salary cap be lower than this year?

Yes and yes, but bet on the Players' Association and the League working something out. The owners will take a pretty heavy hit in any case.

That is indeed a pattern. Hoo boy
I remember when the Cubs were in the World Series in 2016 and I was yelling into the sky that I would take a Cubs World Series win over anything else. Hoo boy. Sorry!

The God of Medicine also doesn't like it when bad things happen to baseball:
1918-19 Spanish Flu pandemic / Black Sox scandal
1957 Asian Flu pandemic / Dodgers leave Brooklyn
2019-20 COVID-19 / Astros sign stealing

I can remember celebrating 1994 as the first AL West championship in Texas Rangers history. I attended the last game. They were 52-62!
