DeSean Jackson released by the Eagles: possibly due to his off-field issues. Now explain how the Jags got a 6th-round pick for Blaine Gabbert.
If Jackson looks good in the Pats camp but the law catches up with him in late summer, MA Corrections can double bunk him with that other guy.
Surprising that Jackson's criminal connections raised an eyebrow in the greater Philadelphia area, ancestral home of closeted depravity. More sick stuff has happened in Philly basements than ever happened in Silence of the Lambs.
The concern with Gabbert, meanwhile, is apparently due to his on-field issues.

Sounds like a perfect pickup for either the Patriots or Raiders.
Raiders maybe, but no chance with NE if his background reveals even a tiny bit of gang-related activity. Hernandez has taught them well.

I was amazed the Jags got anything for Gabbert. He showed nothing as a quarterback last season. To catch some of his sideline routes, a receiver would have to be 12 feet tall or sitting in the stands.

No chance with anyone, likely, regardless of his talent. Hernandez schooled 32 NFL owners and GMs on what it's like to have a player with alleged gang issues and is known as a locker room distraction. It's a lesson that's going to stick for awhile, so it's tough to imagine any team picking him up for awhile.

Close it down for the day, we're done. I'm adding that to my repertoire, "I heard he has some disgusting on-field issues".

I can imagine. He went to the Pro Bowl with 1,332 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He'll promise "neither me nor my Gs will ever kill again" and be signed quickly.

Unless he's in prison, there's no WAY he's not playing NFL football next season.

Hernandez has taught them well
Taught them how to disassociate the organization from accepting any responsibility. The Patriots brass sole focus is on winning. Expect Jackson to have a visit soon.
