Jaguars Hire Gus Bradley as Head Coach: The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to be their new head coach, the fourth in team history. The Seahawks defense gave up a league-low 15.3 points per game last season under Bradley, who was in his fourth season as DC. Before that, he was a linebackers coach at Tampa Bay and a college assistant coach from 1990 to 2005.

Bradley gave his first interview in Jacksonville Wednesday. The new GM doesn't mess around.

It's weird how quickly a coach's stock rises in the NFL. Bradley's team improved each year he was defensive coordinator, but it's not like they were excellent over a sustained period of time.

Going with a defensive-minded coach runs against the current trend. Look at all the points scored in the playoffs.

Gus is already a winner. He has traded the Belltown Popsicle for a giant can of 7UP.

Once a trend is obvious, it's time to move on to something new @rcade.

Jags have always gone for men with defensive backgrounds as head coach except for Mularkey, so Bradley isn't a huge surprise to me.

I don't think anyone's left in Jaguars management from the old days. This is a fresh decision by a new GM and an owner with only one year atop the franchise.

I've been driving past that giant can of 7UP so long it doesn't seem weird to me any more.

Sounds wonderfully '90s. Would you also classify the decision as "All that"? Even if I were to ask for a "bag of chips"?

We just started Atkins, so can you send a box of their fudge brownie bars instead of the chips?

I just like seeing some new faces instead of the same guys just somewhere else. alot of times they just recycle the same guys. Maybe some new blood is what the league needs.

I was on the fence until I saw this picture:

That's a lot of happy.
